Meaning it doesn't matter if I use other bank (uob, ocbc) to apply for ipo even if my cdp account is link to dbs? It will only recognise base on the cdp account no. entered and refund the monies to the bank account that you use to apply for the ipo? If this is the case, can I use my account to apply on behalf of my mother? Using the same bank account to apply ipo both for myself and my mother? Thanks |

It would be very similar to DBS. First a bank account needs to be opened with UOB. Once this is done, application for IPO can be done from the ATM or the net. Just key in your CDP acct nos when prompted. |

hi eastonbay, i just open a cpd & trading a/c, & crediting it thru DBS a/c. You mention that DBS will charge @ $2, so i thou of changing to UOB instead. What should I do, as I'm very new in this. Hope that you can advise me on this. Thanks. |

yes you can. You bank a/c either dbs or UOB do NOT have to be linked to your trading a/c. I used to use DBS bank for IPO but stopped since they raised the fees to $2. As a cheapo, now I use UOB bank (I had the a/c since long time ago) as the fee still stays at $1. Just think if they provide they same function, I will use the cheaper one. For DBS, they will prompt to you key in your cdp account the very first time you apply IPO through them, but the system 'remembers' that CDP a/c no. You do not need to key in again for Subsequent IPO applications. i.e. it will be 'linked'! Think the same for UOB bank (can't remember exactly). or you just need to key in your CDP no for each application. No sweat, really, for $1 cheaper |

don't need trading account to apply for IPO. Just use your UOB ATM card, go to the ATM machine or if you have internet banking facility for uob bank at home, can do that too. You need a trading account if you heng heng get your IPO. That you need to open one with the houses like UOB Kayhian, DBSV, Kim Eng, CIMB_GK etc etc (a very long list) I hope you have a CDP account to being with. If not, forget about it. Go to SGX to apply CDP ACCOUNT first. If you still don't know how, read SGX website. |
