hi vicly18, am sorry to hear about your losses bt that is part & parcel of life in investing or speculating. there was a topic on this "issue" in Advise, hope you will go there n take a look. even hot tips sometimes take time, and by the time it "breakout", it oreadi becomes "cold tips" liao. hope you will "undergo" some proper "training" rather than relying on rumours/tips. take singaporegal's advise won't be wrong 1.. last time when i was "chu tao", i lost until i cannot afford 1 cup of $0.35 kopi (small cup 1).. if i nt wrong, i think u r quite "young" in age ba, so take the longer route rather than short-cuts and u will be assured of a "better life", wish u all the best! |

Hi Vicly187, welcome to SJ. Many rules in investing, one of them is to avoid buying based on insider information. You wouldn't know if the information is valid, and in most cases, probably invalid, and may perhaps lose more because you forget about stop losses always looking for that elusive target price. And besides, contra trading is dangerous. |

If you are a newbie with little cash, I think its better to invest that cash in a good book or course. Listening to tips or doing contra is a sure-fire way to get burnt if you're new. Good luck! |
