Who is going to belive this story? hehehe..... NOL (Final net div S$0.04 per share) is paying up this Friday! DJ MARKET TALK: Lehman Starts NOL At Overweight, S$4 Target [Dow Jones] STOCK CALL: Lehman Brothers starts Neptune Orient Lines (N03.SG) at Overweight with S$4.00 price target; says valuations look attractive, as do corporate action prospects. Notes NOL has estimated US$1.9 billion in hidden port assets; believes company could mirror Hanjin's port structure and crystallize value of these dedicated terminals, using proceeds to potentially bolster its logistics operations. Closed down 1.7% at S$3.52 yesterday. (JEM) |

NOL period 2 (P2) operating result dosen't look too good at first glance. Vol up +2% but ave revenue per container is dn -5%. YTD vol +11% but ave rev per container -6%. Market may react adversely to this tomo but bear in mind that P2 was affected by CNY hols. %. |

NOL is no wtrading within a band band betweeb 3.12 and 3.32. Since it was well supported at 3.12 even during the recent big market sell-off, it may not fall below 3.12. Hence there should be no fear of it going to 3.00. If it breaks above 3.32, chances are great it will rise further from there. |

What I meant is 3.00 is my support point. If NOL breaks below 3.00, I will dump it and then sideline. Which means as long it remains above 3.00, I will just hold it. To me, this is what "let your profits run" is about. Please note 3.00 is only my price. Your own charting may vary slightly. Also, it is up to you to make the 'cut-loss' point slightly lower too. But since 'bear traps' do happen, especially in today's market when millions upon millions are doing TA. The game now is not as straightforward as when TA is not widely followed. |

pikachu... I have already given my views on NOL earlier... ie the 3.00 'cut-off' point. But let's say if I am keen on this stock, I will get back in if after getting out, it breaks out of the resistance again. Traders are frequently wrong, though. |

The most important thing for all stock 'newbies' to realise is that when we talk about trend, it is only a speculation. Which means to say it is an educated (analysis) guess until the future prices are known. Before that, no one should say the trend is up or down. Bear in mind also that a 'trend reversal' can happen anytime without warning. There is no such thing as 'model' guide when it come to stocks. But on second thought I am tempted to think that since I am always singing the song of 'betting small' (according to each's ability to lose), I suppose you can call that 'exemplary'... hehe... |

iPunter... wah... you really kind-hearted and concerned! Maybe you can give us a good model example to all forummers here of how to post helpful messages to help the newbies such that they don't get mislead ? :) BTW, what do you think of NOL's price action recently? :) |

punter2006... Since the market is so strong, I believe it is a matter of time before NOL catches up with the rest of the counters. But if it does weaken further in the coming days, I would have gotten out if if goes below 3.00 (a projection of mine on the chart). But in the market, in spite of our diligent analysis, anything can happen. So it is up to you decide your action. |

I have no reservations about Singaporegal's style at all... It is a personal trading style and I do not, I do not 'oppose' her style of trading at all. In fact I do support her style since she did analysis. |

Allow me to elaborate... Say, my friend who is new to the stock market comes to the forum and everyday sees so many posts declaring 'this stock is "on an uptrend" and 'that stock is "on a downtrend"... he will most probably enthusiastically and delightedly buy and sell stocks based on those 'tips'. People simply love tips, you see. But the problem is being newbies, they will invariably not know how to cut loss if prices go awry. Of course, they will not complain about the loss, because it's their own folly in the first place. |

I don't understand how come the topic can digress to that of "trading style" when there's no mention or implication at all... It's not about opposing anyone's trading style... :( However, there is implication that newbies may get mislead by sinplistic statements, esp. (specifically) "on an uptrend... on a downtrend..." I believe there were hundreds of such posts in the early days... I worry for the newbies, though it is none of my business. |

Yup... I agree with harryp. While there's no harm finding out about someone's technique, it doesn't serve any purpose to slam someone else's style because I believe that trading styles are personalised to the individual based on character and trading philosophy. My style might work for me but it may not work for you and vice versa. |

One man's meat is another man's poison. No point dissing other people's method. Better look into our own method and see if we can improve ourselves further and make more $$$$. Peace |
