BROKER CALL - Singapore's Yongnam assigned 'outperform' rating - CIMB-GK SINGAPORE (XFN-ASIA) - CIMB-GK Research says it has started covering the stock of construction firm Yongnam Holdings Ltd with a "buy" rating and a target price of 0.41 sgd per share, saying the company is a good proxy to the construction boom. Yongnam is the largest provider of structural steel works here and is well positioned to benefit from the upturn in the construction industry, CIMB-GK said. "Potential contracts to be awarded as a result of major construction projects in the pipeline are estimated to be worth 887 mln sgd for structural steel works and 192 mln sgd for strutting systems. Contracts from both segments would easily sustain Yongnam over the next three years as these projects stretch into 2008," the brokerage house said. Construction activity is booming here because a rise in demand for high-end residential property and investments in new shopping malls and two casino resorts. CIMB-GK expects Yongnam's net profit to have risen to 5.1 mln sgd last year from 600,000 sgd in 2005, and to rise to 17.8 mln sgd this year and 25.7 mln sgd next year. At 2.55 pm, Yongnam was up 0.03 sgd or 10.91 pct at 0.305 sgd, with 100.05 mln shares having changed hands. |

this kind of under dog stock is hard to find..... just wonder how many peoples who can still hold it if they bought it at 0.01 till now? Indeed I was watching it from 0.01... day by day....it inch up... amazing!!!!! but I never dare to jump into this boat |

SINGAPORE, Feb 13 (Reuters) - Singapore's Straits Times Index <.STI> rose 1.02 percent to 3,181.36 points at 0310 GMT. Stocks and factors to watch: Yongnam Holdings (YNAM.SI: Quote, Profile , Research), a construction and engineering firm, rose 9.1 percent to S$0.30 -- their highest level since September 2001 -- after stock broker CIMB initiated its coverage with an "outperform" rating and a target price of S$0.41. As the biggest structural steelworks provider in Singapore, Yongnam can undertake large-scale projects and is set to benefit from the construction upturn in Singapore, CIMB analyst Glenford Tan said in a client note. The stock also profited from market talk that the construction contracts for Singapore's first casino project would be awarded this week, a dealer at Kim Eng Securities said. Yongnam was one of the most actively traded counters in the broader market with some 42 million shares changing hands. |

the sand ban has in fact brought about a catalyst for yn as govt encourages developer and construction companies to switch to alternative materials including steel structures...yn's key forte....momentum expected to continue....any profit-taking would provide good opportunity for one to enter at 0.25 |
