Monday can again see East Asia staring at a listless mkt,with the exception of shanghai co's of BOC success & ICBC coming offer, that mean EU stock can oso mean a no good sign, following DOWn. then DOW can open lower before recovering a little, still it -ve by close to 50 points.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Stocks tumbled for the third straight session Friday amid surging oil prices, heightened violence in the Middle East and worries about corporate profits. The Dow Jones Industrial average (down 106.94 to 10,739.35, Charts) sank 1 percent, leaving it up just 0.2 percent for the year. he broader Standard & Poor's 500 (down 6.09 to 1,236.20, Charts) index slipped 0.5 percent, and the Nasdaq composite (down 16.76 to 2,037.35, Charts)slid about 0.8 percent Friday, dragging them further into the red for the year. The S&P 500 is down nearly 1 percent in 2006, while the Nasdaq has tumbled 7.6 percent so far this year. The rout started Wednesday as fighting between Israel and Lebanon's Hezbollah escalated, sending oil soaring to record highs. Traders worry that rising oil could feed inflation and slow economic growth, hurting corporate profits.The selloff is part of a broader pullback that has pummeled markets since late May. S&P 500 futures rose 3.5 points at 1,251.00 and Nasdaq 100 futures rose 3 points at 1,492.75. Dow industrials futures improved 23 points. On Thursday, the Dow industrials posted its second-straight dip of over 100 points -- shedding 1.5% overall -- with Middle Eastern tensions, SAP's revenue warning and broker downgrades for Wal-Mart Stores and Walt Disney Co. weighing. Crude-oil futures rose 55 cents to $77.25 a barrel in electronic trading Friday. Asia markets also declined on Friday, with analysts attributing the decline more to the surge in oil prices than the well-flagged quarter-point rate hike by the Bank of Japan, which ended the country's zero interest rate policy. The Nikkei 225 lost 1.7% in Tokyo. See Asia markets. The dollar actually rose against the yen, as traders bet that the central bank would take its time before making further rate hikes. Friday will see a number of U.S. economic releases, including retail sales, which probably rose 0.4% in June.
