Oil-and-gas companies DBS VICKERS SECURITIES, Nov 8 INVESTMENT thesis 1: resurgence in order flow. Our key investment thesis for 2010 is for builders to outperform asset owners/operators, due to the resurgence in orders. The key difference from the bull market in 2004 is that this order flow resurgence will be led by production-related contracts in H1 2010, which are the bottlenecks for oil companies' cash flows after a pause in capex in 2009. Top picks to benefit from production-related order flow catalysts in H1 2010. We have upgraded Swiber to 'buy', with an upward revised target price of $1.24. The time is now right to buy into this counter in anticipation of the seasonal offshore field development order flow in the December 2009-March 2010 periods. PEC Ltd ('buy', $0.88), with $500 million order pipeline, is expected to see more downstream EPC contracts award in onshore Middle East in H1 2010. Sembcorp Marine ('buy', $4.26) should also benefit from offshore conversion/newbuild contracts in H1 2010, and from Petrobras' capex in mid-2010. Investment thesis 2: growth-by-acquisition of offshore assets. We believe that companies that raised equity early in 2009 should benefit as the industry recovers. They are well positioned to purchase in H1 2010: distressed offshore vessels, and smaller-sized companies with the required skill sets, but weakened financials. Top picks to benefit from asset acquisition catalysts in H1 2010. We expect asset acquisition news flow to be strong in 2010 for both Ezra Holdings ('buy', $2.77) and Mermaid Maritime ('buy', $1.11), who have made aggressive fund raisings of US$160 million and US$109 million, respectively, in 2009. The acquisition of offshore skills and vessel capabilities would allow both companies to supplement their own organic earnings growth. Key inflexion points in 2010. They are: W-shaped economic recession that may push oil to less than US$50/bbl; weaker-than-expected margins for new orders due to stiff competition; and slower than expected easing of tight credit. |

those analysis reports are basically talking their positions. When they give a "buy" call, probably they are the ones selling and locking in profits. But indeed Swiber is a gem. A hidden Gem. All stocks have recovered to their highs or near their highs. For Swiber, easily $1.50 by chinese new year. |
