 Alert Admin 		Gentings' main support is at 0.89 to 0.90. If drop below 0.89, better cut loss because with the current poor local sentiments and global sentiments, gentings can easily drop to 0.80.

 Alert Admin 		Don't remind me about CLOB.  What a stinking move that was!  Their come-uppence is that few Singaporeans now want to buy M'sian shares.  GS was slyly change their registration from Singapore to Malaysia just before their casino opened.  Well, all it takes is one good upswing for alot of pple to forget about their wild ways.  Universal Studios opening should give it a mild upswing.  But from what price ie, 0.8, 0.9 or 1.00?  We shall see.....

 Alert Admin 		At the Bond Market there is the always the yield factor for bond holders to buy Bond A or Bond B or Bond C. Bonds market looks at the attractive yield return.  The issuer has packaged the S$425m n S$450m 0% CBs 2012 taking into acct of the total interest costs for the 5 years and to entice the attractiveness of the issue it has to be zero coupon. Interest amounts are subjected to tax so u bet the bond holders of these 2 issues are both local and foreign names. It is such a big issue of not AAA standing so the underwriters will push out to international centres. Now with local and offshore shares lending facilities, likely shares were borrowed first sell off first before getting the new issue shares. Hence the big sell down to a comfortable level (looking at yield returns vis-a-vis other bonds yields) before slowly buying back bit by bit to return what is being borrowed. If sentiments is negative they will just sell off the newly issued shares once their accounts are credited with it. Since the co reported a heavy loss of more than $200m u bet there will be more funds raising exercises. It will be done with a view of presenting some nice sexy hopeful stories so that all will start believing in the expansion stories again, buy, keep, collect as the price recovers. Suddenly will announce some bond issues or rights issues again. This co has done 3 rights issues and I can only see2 bonds issue from the sgx site. This style reminds me of the CLOB time where the Msians are expert in funds raising. Banks and underwriters are a happy lot as they collect 2 to 5 % fee. then get the research side to write beautiful blue sky stuff for us all to read as we love such beautiful proses/lyrics/songs. Msia Boleh, CLOBbered arhhh again!

If I hold a 10mil bond, surely GS needs to make sure that when they ask me to convert into shares, they need to give me the dollar equivalent amt in share price ie, 10mil worth of shares, isn't it?  And to entice me to convert, they must also give me margin to do so from a very safe haven of principal guaranteed plus interest for a no. of years to a vehicle that fluctuates up and down with no guaranteed return.

Hence, my rationale that GS will likely do this when the price is higher eg, ask their bond holders to convert at 0.95 when the price is above 1.2 (in current round).  If they do a conversion exercise when the share is 0.6, imagine the no. of shares that will flood the market?!  That will sink the share price even more which in turn will surely not please themselves in the long run cos they will find it more difficult to raise funds from shareholders or from the market.  Current conversion has already turned off shareholders who had faith in this company in the long run.

 Alert Admin 		I did not say GS cannot offer at 0.60.  My point is if they do that, then the market will be over flowing with GS shares.  Would it then serve their future fund raising efforts to do things that way?  Although the prevailing market sentiment and their performance do have a weightage on how much they can push even if they want to, it won't be too surprising that when they need to raise funds, a promising future will be hyped up in order to gain investors' confidence to part with their money.  That is a necessary move or their fund raising exercise might not be as successful as they would like. When that happens, would it be too hard to imagine that their share price will move up then?   Just my thoughts.

Hi Sarah, why not $0.60?  Genting can always offer to bold holders to convert at 60 cents. Fyi,  the no of floating shares have increased by 81%  from FY05 to FY09.  And the equity per share for FY09 is only 35cents. Please see the balance sheet for the details.

u hit the jackpot. i'm so silly that i sold my bonds thinking that after made a good profit as dont want to wait till apr 2012. din expect genting shares to be pushed up so fast and even brought forward the conversion date by 2 years, worst is i bought the shares instead after heard that the casino will open early. i've been holding genting shares for 10 over years, not a single cent of dividen, just need to pray hard it will start to make $ from next quarter onwards

Many buy on hope Gent SP will be as good as getting, guaruntee a gaming licence. For some, it current trading on such hope that it can quickly rise or push it trading beyond $1.6-$2.

In near term such news has been facted in, while many branded analyst had been promoting Gent SP target price from $1.28 onward, they R awaiting to unload when TP is reachable and time may come B4 Gent SP announce, like for EG, getting a gamling licence or B4 it official opening.

It is UNthinkable that during all these Bond Conversion, Rights Issues, Private Placement, there was # NO iNSiDER TRADE information being ANNOUNCED #

Is it TRUE that there was NO INSIDER TRADE during these Significant SWINGS of UPs and downs? 

Did Genting Majority Shareholders made hundreds of millions during these SWINGS?

The Bond market is a lot bigger market than the Share market. Most bond holders/players are big names not retail investors.  Funds raising via the bond market will not dilute the shares instantly but will slowly kill the share market side. They reported that the 0% S$425m Convettible Bond 2012 was already fully converted by 31 Dec 2009. The next report was a balance of 0%S$425m CB 2012 yet to convert at 0.95. That balance of 321.1 means all the bond holders MUST get new shares of 338m. Like share market players we love to hold shares. So bond holders will hold bonds not new shares. Now there is an beavy overhanging of shares....and the one that is carrying the baby is the retail long term investors. Buy on rumours sell on fact......in other words buy the official opening, sell on opening of the Sentosa Casino. Big funds already ran road. But this is not the end of the game as the co reported losses last round....means more fund raising in the future. FYI since Luxembourg listing to the otc here Genting reports more losses habitually. This gives me the feeling that out of Msia to suck more $$$$$$!!!
