Hi HLJ2, It is impossible to know when is the bottom. So I think by using Historical Perspective may shed some lights. Therefore, by using the longest crash (The Dot Com Bubble) of the 3 crashes, it'll take STI another 20 mths or so to bottom out and start with a new run. Your 25 percentile bottom is quite interesting....care to expand more? Many thanks. Cheers! |

when is the bottom then? How come there are so many bottoms?? What i can conclude is that we are at about 25% percentile bottom level. | ||||

The Stock Market has to get worst b4 it can become better. No one really knows when the redemptions are going to end ...and how many of these FUNDS are going to go down the drain. Prepare yourself for the worst and you don't have to worry about the BULL&BEAR story. Come what may you'll still be with the curve or ahead. Most important thing is you must have ready Bullets to fire when the times arrive! May the FORCES be with you! Cheers! |

Yoh, at this crucial moment, u dun hv time to ask whats Tech n Fund. When until u fully understand them, war over liao. Simply, just ask your sifus, what to buy and sell now? why, what price, when to do that, lastly but not least , the safetest is what? Cash is king or follow the crowds. |

Technicals is still working very well in the market today. Many could have saved thousands of dollars if they had followed technicals when stocks showed supports being broken. It is the fundamental side of it that is not working.

this market is very much sentimental based regardless of technicals or fundamentals (they still play a part...but not tt strongly) ...we can't just pump everything inside now too...accumulation could possibly be fine...tt's just a personal opinion only

let's look at the turning point of the bull market last year when it reached its peak and everyone was still bullish...remember when ppl cheered and keep saying sure will go up somemore...and we hear almost everyone u meet on the streets saying they bought this share...they bought that share...etc ----------------and that was the time when we turn around and slipped downwards when everyone was high now....we are looking at the exact opposite whereby u talked about the stock market...people cover their ears and swear never to touch equities again...and we can see on many forums that keeps predicting the end of the world scenario...e.g. 'sure go down somemore...it will hit below 1000...etc etc' ...that's when everyone on the streets are pessimistic... ------------------so when we apply the exact opposite of the two scenarios...the situations....what do we get? I hope that will indicate a bottom. As much as we are all not fully experts (even majority of experts got it wrongly)...we cannot indicate precisely where is the bottom...all the best to all of us. Cheers in hoping that the market really turn around for good this time. |

Hi, Think for this pt 1, it's not really applicable for those of us wanting to buy and keep long term... this seems to be more applicable for short term intra-day type of trading... and also really for those with deep pocket and the guts to go against the sentiment/flow of general seller/buyer, correct?

Investment ideas;- 1. Buy when people are "urgently" selling, sell when people are "urgently" buying 2. Know the right timing. Do your homework! (Check futures, read reports, aware about "prominent" investors behaviour ) Can't goes wrong with above rules. |

Buy progressively is what i'm doing. Intend to keep for few years. We are quite low now. Don't know when is the bottom but definitely worth collecting now. Of course, we have to ignore the noise if it drops slightly. Just hold on for few years. History repeats itself.
