Btw CAE does not manufacture cars but engaged in the design and manufacture of a wide range of telecommunication, data network and transportation communication products in the PRC. The Group also engaged in the business of research and development, manufacture and sale of automobile parts. The main products of the Group are wire harnesses and connectors used in automobiles. They also manufactures and sells other products, being primarily crimping machines and moulds.

Beside selling to the local car manufacturers ( the fastest growing market ) , the company also export their products to USA, Germany, Japan and Australia.

The profitable company has reinvented itself by focusing on auto electronics products and has started expanding globally through its well connected Ex-GM boss, Mr Rudolph Schlais. His own recent 2m shares purchases in July shown management 's committment and confidence in the company restructuring and expansion plans and good buying value.

Currently the stock is trading at approx. half of its NAV and PE 2.5x. hence do believe that downside should be limited. Not an induction to buy or sell but just some nos to chew on..  Caveat emptor.

China Car sales dropped... the car manufacturers in China are in BIG headache... F1 or not does not matter

 

I already posted it earlier... as top repeated... its is released only last week... and in the friday... the moment this news appear, the stock drop from 0.125 to 0.115 immediately after the market reopens... thats why TA shows that at 0.125 it is already struggling... a check on the FA shows the news the reason why... This is only a study on the counter, not a call or buy or sell, as a request by my friend...

 

BUT HEY... you never know if the car makers going to make some revolutionary strategies or project... like some super longlasting electric motor car or something else... if they merge together to develop some new project on a new prototype car there will be a raise...

STILL for those who haven enter... better dun enter now... there are more positive counters out there...

Can give us some background why this shares look VERY BAD?

Why the company 's chairman would buy 2 million and release $0.125+. ??

Not trying to doubt your posting but Just want to know what and how you assess this company's FA..

When FA is  bad... TA will reflect this... and this is also the reason why the company look bad as I mention earlier... cuz the chart look bad...

Looking at the coming Q2 results, I believe most Chinese companies should better their Q1 results. This could be one reason for the improved performance in S-shares recently ( my guess ).

Quite a lot of Chinese companies did badly in Q1 due to low cyclical demand during this period and also the unfortunate snow storm which affected their operations and those down stream. Many factories actually stop operating for weeks. One bad affected company that sttod out was Jiutian Chemical. As most of the factories have long since recovered and now back to normal operation, we should expect significant better results in QoQ.

Executive Chairman Mr Rudolph Schlais bought another 2 million shares @ $ 0.11836 fr the open mkt.

He is holding 6 million shares now.

Time to buy china auto electronic shares.

Don't miss the F1 race.

Toyota gears up to catch power of China's slip stream

Toyota's delayed push into China is proving that late is much better than never.

After watching GM & Wolkswagen sprint to the lead in the world's no. 2 car mkts, a recent sales spurt is closing the gap.

Having awakened to China's importance, Toyota is cranking up investments in its local joint ventures with the aim of raising capacity to 830000 vehicles by 2010.

CAE's Technical analysis and Fundamental analysis are good.

S share mkt sentiment will be better in August.

It is time to BUY.

My TA shows it had broken the major Downtrend Lines, and it has great growth potential.

Still, I am not too sure if my TA is correct on China counters... esp after my Zaino analysis ...

DBS Vickers report ..

China Auto Electronics (CAE) delivered net profit of RMB8.9m in 1Q08, which is below expectation. This is mainly attributed to the recent acquisition of its subsidiary in the USA, which made unexpected RMB14.9m net losses at the company level. The PRC-based operations also saw higher than expected effective tax rate of 28.5% in 1Q08.

While the group’s existing China-based operations saw a headline 6.4% y-o-y decline in net profit to RMB20.8m in the seasonally weak1Q08, it was up 34% q-o-q from a poor 4Q07. This is positive, as CAE has delivered on its q-o-q margin enhancement promise by being more cost and
operationally effective, despite similar margin compression from the same customer for existing car models. The group expects further productivity gains and more realistic price negotiation with this particular customer for new car models to sustain gross margin in the rest of the year.

CAE also guides that its newly acquired US subsidiary will at least reach profit breakeven at the corporate level for FY08, as it has already seen positive progress in resolving the one-off operational issues that plagued 1Q08. We have, however, projected conservatively that the US subsidiary will only reach breakeven at the corporate level for the remaining 9 months of 2008. We have consequently reduced our net profit estimate by 22% to RMB96m for FY08, after factoring in higher effective tax rate and RMB15m net losses for the US subsidiary.

We have cut our fair value to S$0.28; using a reduced 10x FY08 PE as investors’ confidence is likely to remain weak in the near term. We believe that downside pressure on the stock will be mitigated by CAE’s 23.7 Scents NTA per share as of end 1Q08, and a still profitable franchise as
the largest Chinese wire harness supplier in the PRC. We maintain our BUY rating on CAE, and future share price re-rating is contingent on the group’s successful re-structuring of operations in China and USA

Shanghai (AFP)

Chinese shares prices closed 4.59% higher on monday( 070708) following strong earning forecasts from major banks and remarks by govt officials on stabilising the market, dealers said.

Analysts said strong performances by banks eased investor concern about slowing corporate earnings growth.

Sentiment received another boost after Vice Premier Wang Qishan made remarks on the weekend regarding healthy growth in the financial industry, trader said.

Airlines stocks also rose sharply on expectation of strong growth in passenger traffic during the Beijing Olympics in August.

Yup. This is one good undervalued counter with huge growth potential. China auto industries is a sunriser! Just only consider the potential number of cars her own people would need is simply mind blowing.

Taiwan relaxes rules on mutual fund investment

Once the new measures take place, Taiwanese mutual funds will be able to invest as much as 10% of their assets in china mkt and the 10% investment limit in HK's H share or red chip stks will be removed.

Taiwan's mutual funds are currently valued at US$ 124 billion.

The Singapore-based American, who gained fame and fortune by co-funding the Quantum fund with billionaire George Soro, is taking "all his new money on commodities and China plays".

Mr Jim Rogers is bullish on China plays, particularly those listed in Singapore and Hong Kong, which are "cheaper to buy" than those in China.

Bank of Communications Schroders Fund Mgt is aiming to raise up to 1 billion yuan for its 1st overseas fund later this month.

60% of the money raised would be invested in global stocks.
