Based on Singtel's finacial ratios for the last 5 years, this is one of the best stock in the market. Its assests are also diversified with many investments in developing countries. In fast singapore accounts for only 30% of Singtel's earnings. I will keep this stock for another 5 years. |

Singtel hasn't lose a penny since listed in 1993. Over the years, I can't remember how much divs I've collected, I may have already recovered most of my capital if not fully. This is another company worth accumulating for long term investor. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

From the chart of singtel , it seems that there is accumulation taking place ... Seems that some consolidating few of the blue chip ... hope that STI remain positive today since most of the Co reporting higher profit for the quater . Will it dive down again later ?? who know ..

But in most cases, I tot the dividend is already factored into the share px when you buy CD. Therefore, you're only cashing out your own cash Cheers!

Just pay up and hold on to cashout the dividend. Take it as fixed deposit...  unless you have better use for the cash...

she got 3 transaction in july, that's the latest bought at 3.44 price, she also made another 2 huge transaction buy at price of 3.47 and 3.42 ... she looks rich, currently holding about 40 millions Sing dollars singtel share value... can't imagine her dividends, ha ha.. so, with our price bought today at 3.40 (which most of us did), I think we are at good shape la... personally, I am aiming for 4.00 this end of year ! |

Just some food for thought on Singtel:
1. Bharti doubled its profit in Q1 (Apr 07 - Jun 07) with a record increase in mobile users, and Singtel has a 30.5% stake in Bharti Airtel.
2. Singtel Chief Chua Sock Koong acquired another 315000 shares @ S$3.44. That's a cool S$1083600 investment.
3. 16 cents per share dividend, ex-div on 7 Aug 07. This was declared on 19 Jun 07. What's interesting is the trading volume on 20 Jun 07 which surged to 83.38m, closing price at S$3.42. Volumes traded on 18 & 19 Jun 07 were about 40m & 49m, both days closing at S$3.40.
So, with this in mind, short term support is around S$3.40. Immediate target for appreciation should be around S$3.56 in view of dividend pricing in. For medium term, Bharti will continue to add value to Singtel via its market expansion in India's mobile telecoms mkt. Medium to longer term, Mio TV should be factored in, together with the contributions from Bharti, Warid, Telkomsel, Globe Telecom, AIS which still have prospects for increased mobile mkt penetration.
Caveat emptor, still a pretty good value play. Congrats to those who managed to get this at S$3.38 today (lowest for today).

Very high chance I will not be buying anything today. Its not me to jump in on the first day of plunge to buy. If its a real price depression, it will not just go down today but every each day onwards. Today will be a classic 80% SELLER 20% BUYER. Lets be patience. Yes I am still waiting for SMRT. Yesterday retraced from the recent XD fall buy I think today may makes it a dead cat bounce. |
