Hypothetically, your assumption may be wrong. They may be catching the same fishes (i.e. churning, by throwing them back into the "oasis" at the end of each day to repeat the cycle). The active traders or cheap funds just need two or three parties to do that - they sell to each other and in so doing hope the "weak retailers" will sell to them at the "lelong" prices!! They just have to pay the stamp duty or brokerage. Sigh, every counter is being manipulated by different players - sadly LMA players are "small big boys" |

Hypothetically, 600+ fishes netted per day... multiply that by 600 (3months) will make it 360000 fishes... a solid sizeable haul by any standard... :) |

iPunter - LMA seems to be played by "small big boys" or "tortoises" NOT the "big big boys" or "roaring lions" who play other counters with weaker fundamentals. Sorry if I have been misconstrued as having said that retailers are giving the big boys a "free ride" Retailers (or stags) who need to sell at the lehlong prices would have sold long ago(proof: the low daily volume!) That is why I suggested that they will have to run after the stronger retailers during an upturn. Look at what had happened today. They were fishing in a desert - only 635 fishes caught after six and half hours of fishing - a waste of their time!! |

hehe.. I alway thought it's only the big boys who are capable of giving the retailers a 'free ride' and not the other way round as you are suggesting.... :) |

Hi NovocaineSenior Same old trick of "cheap funds" or "active traders". Will love to waste their time queuing low, and at the end of each trading day, sigh on the way home, that it has been a bad day - no catch, at all. Why can't they be like other "smart funds or active traders" - keep on buying up to dare the short sellers? Wait for FY 2006's final quarter report to buy up - by then retail investors will run away and they would have to chase after them by buying at higher and higher prices to play against the masses!! |

Pse log on to the "The Society of Remisiers(Singapore)" website for the link to CIMB-GK research on LMA. The certainty about this company is it is unlikely to be one with "bumped up" figures or accounting errors |

This counter has been lying low for some time and with earnings growth set to grow every quarter (the same storyline for shares to move up) should be one of the targets of the pros, by rotational play. Remember - the early bird catches its worm. |

That's provided the pros are willing to take over from here and "buy high, sell higher"... coz unless the do this, it is doubtful they will enter so soon. |

The IPO price last year for LMA was 88 cents. Does it make sense to buy it now as the chances of making some $$ is better than one that has gone all the way up for, say, one year?. Load up on it at the present low prices (to thrash the manipulators at their own game) which u may not be able to get for some time once the run-up starts. |

Thanks iPunter. We are learning from each other's postings. Singaporeregal Master has often advised caution with her helpful tips - we can't thank her enough. |

Thanks iPunter for the superfast response. It's irrational for the "manipulators" to think that the retail masses can't think - pushing the share all the way down when LMA is not on the verge of bankruptcy. The simple logic is that the manipulators have to accumulate at low prices to try and push the price up later. Look what has happened - they have been beaten at their own game by the burst of buying up at low prices. They often adopt a "contrarian" approach to TA to confuse the market. |

LMA must be hoping that more will use it during "heart seizure" operations coz' share has been below IPO price for more than a year. The "manipulators" have been "faking" by parking to sell at low prices, hoping to buy at low prices. Unfortunately, they have been "whacked" by retail investors who dare to buy at "low" prices . Once they have no more shares to sell at low prices, what happens - eat humble pie by moving up to buy at progressively higher and higher prices. Sorry "manipulators" - you can't always "beat" the masses by "faking". |
