i think to reach that price range is hard. It would be 2009 prices which in my view is impossible even their contract prices have risen to cover their costings. Inflation rate alone is at 10%. Likely low price it can go will be 2.55 but i think they will be rebounding to 2.7 soon this price adjustment is only due to their acquisition of their japanese holdings which is running red now. Increase of assets can't be bad and can't decrease their share price. But what do i know i'm just guessing.

This counter had corrected slightly more than 10% already which most analyst believe the whole market is at its healthy correction now. However from its own chart reading, I believe there are a bit of more room to go down my target is around $2.52 which will be a fanstastic buy (13% correction) for both capital gains and also enjoy its mid year dividend As mentioned earlier, SATS is consider a yield stock, blue chip and supported by Temasek Holding, all this points should be  noted as buying chances when it is sell down down. When others feared and fleeing, be greedy (Warren Buffet's advice), otherwise all this money will be make by funds only!! (My views is only for long term investment till last quarter 2011) |

Go ask any 50 to 60 yr old uncle with a coffeeshop their contracts are verbal. Their suppliers give them prices valid for a certain duration 2 to 3 weeks especially their coffee powder and cigarettes. Their supplier will also inform them of price changes 2 weeks ahead of changes i dont own or have my own coffeeshop but i do sit with the old timers and the owners to have coffee and they told me so and see them paying and talking to suppliers. Which i think you should too cos i think it will be an eyeopener for you. They are more sensitive to price changes because they have more adaptability and smaller scale operations but it doesnt mean they are peanuts they make big bucks but work looong hrs. Big scale are less price sensitive cos they have red tape and chain of command which is their disadvantage. If you r truly in the food industry then you should know this???? small scale coffeshop owners can be millionaies and their son and daughters doctors and lawyers. Which food industry you in Mcdonald's or Kentucky? Which are also BIG companies too. i dont claim to know a lot but i do obseve and listen a lot.  BTW if SATS does get contract supplier then they would also base their contract on yearly basis too right or highly educated and highly paid workers don't work better then my neighbour hood uncle's son named ah dog who is only a secondary school graduate who know he must stock up more cigarette and coffee powder before prices go up?????? I WONDER! |

Did I wrote someone mentioned SIA is a coffee shop? How long SATS contract their sales? I dont know.   But for their suppliers I believe its for a year mostly. Coffee shop have contract pricing?   This will be a first to me, maybe large chain like Kopi tiam? Prices are agreed without contract until a price change is effected, and mostly likely an advance notice is given. Formal agreement for fixed pricing for a certain period for coffee shop is unheard off, unless like I mention, maybe large chain.  BTW are you in the food industry?   Cos I am.

No one says SATS is a coffeeshop pls read what we wrote and for your info even coffeeshop have constant suppliers and they have contract pricing as well. So dont misread and misquote. And i dont think SATS will put their neck on the chopping board by contract 2 years and only have a one year contract on supplies. Even laymen knows to contract supplies before committing their business contracts. Even COFFEESHOPS too.

SATS is NOT  a coffee shop.   SATS selling price is probably contract tied for a number of months or maybe a year or 2.   Similarly SATS will try its best to tie its suppliers down with fixed price over a certain period.   Unfortunately SATS will not be able to tie down all its suppliers and hence have to pay market price for some of its purchases. Not  surprisingly  SATS margin has been hit lately due to soaring cost.   Most suppliers would not want to tie themselves down as they themselves are at the mercy of their suppliers and exchange rate risk too. In fact food suppliers will take the opportunity to up their margin in their current situation eg soaring prices and shortage.  |

I do agree with it. True price of food costs has gone up rapidly and cause theirs overhead heavily, however like what you say, coffeeshop owners also know how to pass the increase cost to end customers!! Recent mass selldown is overreact and overdone someone is doing hanky panky job and probably going to make big bucks later. 2 Ps will be the key for SATS and that is Patience & DUN Panic.

SATS Ltd –Update (Derrick Heng) Recommendation: Buy Previous close: S$2.65 Fair value: S$3.30   ·                  Concerns over rising raw material prices is likely to be the main cause of a pullback in share price. ·                  SATS should be able to pass on cost increase for most of its food business. ·                  Ability to pay out consistent dividends not under threat. ·                  Maintain Buy recommendation with target price of S$3.30. |

This may be a good news to stop SATS falling However the bear is in control rather th the bulls for this counter. Looking at its chart, the candle stick ending 08Feb doesn't indicate buying force taking over yet although all indicators reflecting greatly oversold. We need a powerful hammer or doji or bullish engulfing candle stick to reflect buying forces take over. My personal view is funds are selling with fear of non-promising pressure about 3rd ground handler to be granted in this quarter. Of course if like your info abt the cruise center and SIAEC not being its airport buissness competitor, then whoever that is accumlating this freefall and surely make a windfall from this selldown. Afterall, SATS main holder is still our mighty Temasek Holdings which is point one, and also it is considered our bluechip with proven yield producing healthy company. So whoever has good belief, I think this is actually an opporounity rather than dumping! Like what Warren Buffet said: When people are fearful, I shall be greedy and vice versa. Good Luck (This are my personal views only)

Read somewhere that SATS is competing to get the ground /food handling business for the next Spore Cruise center and result is pending. If successful will be very good news for the Sats share investors.  | ||||
