Well Vic can't deny that. Coming trading session looks interesting if Dow keeps going up and China's stock down, West vs East.... who will sway the market. |

Oil_madness's comments: For Penguin, I became itch after reading this thread. Seems to me a lot of interest gg on. do make one think on the power of the forum..... just by reading an article, throw or should I say BETTING on the counter and keeping fingers cross hoping it turn profitable. The herd mentality is a powerful driving force .......never underestimate the "force". |

Hi Lonewolf, Thanks for your thought. For me, I don't think it's hindsight. Coz everytime, after I place a trade, I'll try to analyse whether the trade is placed correctly. This way it will help me in my future trading. |

Well, the market has a mind of its own. like vic said, this is a corporate play. That means the story will unfold in parts. Peguin is just in transition phase and things will be better when PSI listing is coming. There will be alot of interest by then. Better buy now than later rite? |

Get real, nobody can buy at the lowest and sell at the highest. To cheer things up for fellow Penguin supporters, I got this news from CNA forum. May 30, 2007, 4.57 pm (Singapore time) Penguin Boat says it's open to takeover offers SINGAPORE - Singapore-listed Penguin Boat International Ltd, which builds and charters passenger ferries and vessels for the oil and gas industry, is open to takeover offers, an executive said on Wednesday. Penguin Boat, which operates ferries between Singapore and the neighbouring Indonesian islands of Batam and Bintan, has been in 'ongoing discussions with prospective investors', said James Tham, director of business development. 'Our key is to deliver shareholder value and if by selling the company delivers shareholder value, we're open,' Mr Tham told Reuters in an interview. 'Since 2003, people have been coming through our doors making all kinds of offers,' he said, but added there has been 'no meeting of minds'. 'I think someone who wants to buy Penguin needs to know what he wants to do with the company,' he added. Penguin Boat -- which is valued at $94 million (US$61.38 million) -- has cash reserves of about $20 million and an estimated 56 per cent of the company floated on the market, Mr Tham said. This has led to market talk that the Penguin Boat is a takeover target, dealers noted. -- REUTERS |

oil_madness, if I may add on, what you are doing is 'hindsight' trading. Never do hindsight trading. Your buy and sell decision should be based on a 'system'. It does not matter what system you used but have one and stick to it. Take the subjectivity and ambugity out of the equation. For me, I bought Penguin on Mon early morning. Sure the price has dropped a bit but I was OK with the price I bought it at. It was within the price range I was willing to buy (<30c) and so I decided to execute the buy. It is kinda hard to predict how the market would move. If Penguin is now trading at 40c, I think you will be telling yourself 'how smart I am to buy at 27c'. Know what I mean? |

What has happened to Penguin and ChinaMilk this Monday has really taught me a lesson. It is better not to buy shares of company immediately after a trading halt (after the release of good news). Rather it is better to sell the shares of that company if you are holding them. Maybe this applies more to non-blue chip stocks. It is better to observe the trading pattern first rather than jump into the boat immediately. For Penguin, I became itch after reading this thread. Seems to me a lot of interest gg on. So I enter a buy order at $0.26 when it was trading at $0.27. U all can say I was unlucky to get it. Anyway I'm not blaming anybody here. I only blame myself. I took the risk and I have to be responsible for my action. Of course, Penguin has good potential but who on this earth does not want to buy low! For ChinaMilk, I bought at $1.12 about a month ago. Immediately after the trading halt (after the announcement of latest quarterly result), it was slow at first. Then (if I'm not wrong), a minute or 2, it immediately went up from ard $1.25 to $1.32. When it reached $1.32, I thought to myself, don't sell la. Can go further to $1.50! For your info, I think ChinaMilk finished around $1.28 on Monday. Now it is in it's low $1.2.Of course, still paper gain. But who on this earth does not want to sell high! But this generalization may not apply to all cases. But I think it will save myself (or earn myself) more money if I follow this rule in the future. |
