 Alert Admin 		2010 is the mother of all bull runs ...then interest rate hike to control inflation in year end ..withdrawal of stimulus in 4Q only --- if there is real inflation risk due to recovery in global economies and stock market reaching new highs.... USD will be strong when there is interest rate hike by Fed....so with USD still attractive, DOW will cheong..

If you travel enough, you will know that common travelers will go where they get more bang for their bucks eg, would you travel to Bangkok if the Thai Baht strengthen to equal value with SGD or to Bali if the exch rate remains the same as today?  If a tourist wants to gamble in a casino, would they choose Las Vegas or Singapore if it is the same price?  If a company wants to get a service eg, accounting, etc, would they pick Singapore or somewhere equally competent if it is cheaper?  Hence, it is clear a strong SGD will definitely impact our service industry. 

I personally believe USD will not go lower than 1.30 against the SGD.  If it does, probably 1.25 and that means the world is quite chaotic then.  In the last financial meltdown, did you see USD going lower than 1.35?  Wasn't that a very bad financial crisis already?  The world was teetering next to a depression!  So please don't think Singapore is immune if USD is very weak.  Singapore will be badly impacted as well. 


FYI, SGD is one of the most regulated and controlled currencies in the world!  It is not floated and is adjusted by MAS regularly.  So it is not adjusting naturally by itself as say USD or any traded currency.

In summary, stock market will go downtrend. But now it's going the opposite direction, DOW green already, not sure later what will happen. Just wait & see. Market is unpredictable sometimes.
