24 Apr 2007 - Buoyant marine industry sparks stock upgradings Brokers lift price targets for ASL, Labroy, KepCorp, SembMarine THE continuing strength in the offshore and marine sector is prompting a slew of upgradings on stocks of companies with exposure to the industry. In a report issued yesterday, Phillip Securities lifted its fair value on ASL Marine to $1.30, citing buoyant demand for offshore support vessels and earnings visibility. |

17 Apr 2007 ASL Marine lands new contracts worth $116m ASL Marine Holdings has won new contracts worth $116 million for the construction of six anchor handling towing/supply vessels (AHTS). Last month, the company also won $164 million in shipbuilding contracts for one unit of heavy lift cum pipelay vessel and six units of rotor tugs. As at end-Dec 06, the company's shipbuilding order book stood at $382 million, and ASL has won another $280 million in shipbuilding contracts since. This is inclusive of the new contracts recently announced. |

Kim Eng targets $1.42!!!!!!!!!CHEONG AH!!!!!!!!!! Singapore?s cheapest yard play? ASL probably rates as the cheapest yard play in Singapore, trading at 9.4x FY07 PE and 7.6x FY08 PE. Considering that the company will be closing its financial year in June, we will subsequently be focusing more on FY08 valuation ? which makes the stock even more attractively priced. We have consequently raised our target price (following our EPS upgrade) to S$1.46 from S$1.32, based on 13x FY07 PE (blended PE multiple). We continue to believe that ASL is capable of unlocking value via ASL Energy. Reiterate BUY recommendation. |

ASL Marine is on up-trend again having fallen to $0.895 a few days ago. Looks like it is going to challenge the last high of $1.03 soon. Strong order book and low PE. Downside risk should be low and certainly has good upside potential. Anyone having interest in this stock? |
