Yes, I have received the letter/application form from my agent bank, UOB. Deadline to subscribe for the rights is 8 Jan 07. Hi shplayer, when we apply for excess rights, do you know how do they allocate ? Thank you. |

All members, vested in Rotary with cash, should have received the application for rights and excess shares in the mail. Closing date is 12 Jan07 Those vested with CPF may need to wait a few more days...your CPF bank will mail offer to you. In this case, the closing date will be earleir as the banks need a few days to compile the applications. |

LookSeeOnly, Yes, you can buy odd lots of ord shares from the market...depending on availability. but, for odd lot trades, you need to go thru your broker...which will make your trading cost higher. ksjlmp, Yes, sale of 2lots rights at 52cts will give you proceeds of $1040 less comm and tax. Yes, you will be entitled to div of $400 less tax.....net $320. rickytan, Rights can be traded in lots of 1000 shares and 400 shares up to 8 Jan 2007. |

To make up a complete lot, we can also buy odd lots of the ordinary shares from the market right? But which would be preferrable, buy odd lot of shares or rights? |

Shplayer: eg if we have 2 lots of right issue share and we sold at 0.52, does it means that we will make a profit of S$1040 and also we will receive $400 dividends? Thanks. |

zujzuj, Buyer of the rights @ 51.5 cts will have to pay another 20cts to conver to mother share. So, your total cost is 71.5cts. Seller of rights will get div of 20cts less tax. Hope its clear. |

Yes, it's probably the best way to calculate it because no money goes in or out because dividends are all used to convert rights, making it equivalent to a bonus issue. |

To add to shplayer's comment : The Rights is @ 20c/sh and you could also apply for extra Rights. Allocation will depend on availabilty and at the discreation of the Management. Your nett dividend will be 8c (20% tax at source) = $800 just offset your 4000 Rights.Cheers! |

Livermore, Soon you will receive a letter in the mail from Rotary Company Secretatiat (if you bought it with cash) or from your CPF bank (if you used CPF) to ask you if you like to:
OR 2. use this divident to pay for your 'Rights' issue at 400 'rights' share for every lot you own. You do not need ay cash outlay. If you opt for (1), you will then get your divident paid on 31 Jan 2007. If you opt for (2), then on 31 Jan 2007, your 10 lots will become 14lots. If you want to sell your shares prior to 31 Jan 2007, you can only sell 10 lots. After 31 Jan, you will have another 4 lots at your disposal. Hope this clarifies it for you. |
