Selling was tame in the afternoon but I am more confident that it will continue further. The way cosco keep mum on who the customers are cancelling order does not help. The DPS way by Keppel and SMM do not help as well. Every one knows one thing for sure: More order cancellations rather than delayed delivery judging by the way the situation goes. Jan. 12 (Bloomberg) -- Keppel Corp. and Cosco Corp. Singapore Ltd. dropped in Singapore trading after customers terminated orders to build ships and offshore platforms, raising concern slowing demand will lead to more cancellations. Keppel, the world’s largest builder of oil rigs, fell as much as 7.3 percent to S$4.56 and traded at S$4.62 as of 10:31 a.m. local time, poised for its largest drop since Dec. 1. Cosco Singapore, a Chinese shipbuilder, slumped as much as 8.6 percent to 80 Singapore cents and last traded at 81 cents, set for the lowest close since Dec. 2. The worst global recession since the Great Depression has caused funds to dry up, making it difficult for shipping lines and oil explorers to arrange loans for new vessels and drilling equipment. Keppel said on Jan. 9 Scorpion Offshore Ltd. terminated a $405 million rig order, while Cosco Singapore said an Asian shipping line canceled two contracts. “Singapore yards, including Keppel, may continue to face potential cancellations from highly-geared rig owners” that have difficulty funding contracts out of future operating cashflows, Serene Lim, a Singapore-based analyst at DMG & Partners Securities, said in a report today. Opportunities are being explored for third parties to take over the building of a drilling rig after Scorpion canceled the order, unit Keppel Fels Ltd. said in a Jan. 9 statement. Talks are also on to terminate a contract with Lewek Shipping, Keppel said. Revised Terms Seadrill Jack-Ups Ltd. will continue with the construction of two rigs on “revised terms,” Keppel said without elaborating. Seadrill also revised terms of its contracts with SembCorp Marine Ltd., the companies said on Jan. 9. SembCorp Marine, the world’s second-largest rig-builder, declined 5.4 percent to S$1.74. Great Eastern Shipping Co., India’s second-biggest sea-cargo carrier, canceled orders for two of four vessels placed with Cosco last week. Cosco has dropped 16 percent this year after retreating 84 percent in 2008, the worst performer on the Straits Times Index. The Baltic Dry Index slumped a record 92 percent last year and last week traded at 872. “We expect more cancellations and deferments in the first half of 2009 as the Baltic Dry Index continues to hover below 1,000 levels,” Lim wrote. |

I warn ppl already that it will touch 80c soon. Order cancelled and delay delivery plus no new order is indeed very worrisome. Add to bad news come keppcorp and i guess Sembmarine to add soon. When cosco shot to the sky, what is the reason given? Win order so now the situation is reverse so it is back to where it was previously. I am waiting for my entry price of 70c |

Do not speculate on this counter as I will definitely drift lower from Monday. Expect it to go below 80c tomorrow and go lower towards 60c soon. The order cancellation and delayed delivery have gain traction and I expect more such news to come sooner than later. Coupled with no new orders, it is no wonder that stock broker target it at 26c minimum. | ||||

if by CNY it cannot stay above $1, then the next 3-6 mth I think it will drop further down or trend sideway. If you can hold then set a target price to avg in again. |

Unless you have the capital to hold or you may consider to average down when the price is lower. Don't use up all your ammunition at one go, do it bits by bits. Do this only if you want to hold, if not cut loss. Just my view.... Ultimately, it's up to you as to what you want to do....

Ha ha, wat we expect this burger, order cancellation, cum DJ down 143.38 last Fri. However, if Cosco goes to dirt cheap, as analyst siad, 0.65 cts, before 20 n 22 ds mth, u may consider to buy one or two lots to test the market, for kopi $.

hmm.... i m having a v bad feeling that cosco might drop further...... friday i was quite free @ work so i look at it ard 3 plus to 4 plus... it is like freefall 1,everytime i refresh it drop again n again n again. i think within that hour from 95 cents to 85 cents... i bought @ $1.05...... wat should i do now? let go or hold or cover???? haizzz... bad feeling bout this share.. everytime see it keep falling.... any comments or any1 in same situation???? |
