Remember that SGX's revenues are tied to market volume. And market volume is directly related to the state of the economy. As long as jobs are lost and incomes down, no one (including BBs) will buy into the stock market.

Sorry, yah I think d report merged 1st Qtr into 1H n 3rd Qtr into FY. As I compared my rcv div on 18 Feb 08 n 22 Oct 08 with the div % not matched leh. Taking the last div paid out of 29 cts for FY08, then 3Qtr 08 then should be 3 cts liao. May be AK too focus on high div pay out period n trade. Sky cleared now.

1H08 mtg was on 15 Jan 08 n interim div 6cts was given. 32 cts div was approved end Jun 08 for FY08. Guess its 1H09 div may shrink as it has given 1Q09 div, moreover earning definitely thin.

I agree with you. SGX make money from transactions. But why has the share price shot up in the last few days?

I remember reading somewhere in Dec  that SGX will underperform due to lower volume because of clamp-down on short-selling and reduction in derivatives trading... seems possible that price will continue to fall. 

anyone has more to add or counter this view?
