It has been almost 2 weeks since Hankore made the announcement to engage Bank Of America Merrill Lynch to carry out valuation. Guess the report could be out within next 2 weeks. Just bought some more at $0.042.

Now oni 4.1c...It still valid n reasonable for BBs to play it up, once ML is about to issue some +ve news.

There will be more players and volume will surge in trading activities. Think is still on BBs list, on rotation play.

There is two meaning to it, one is to add value and of course more upward prices n trading activities, eg: push n dump around 8 to 10cts, depending on BBs players who got stuck.
Another one is to play on rumour and allow to speculate till it hit their target prices... so as to get some return on what had be vested in - 8cents..?. or what? Believe it is less then 8 cents after ave down

Overall Bio-Treat with care n don bio-trap oneself chasing after higher high. Donno - don try chasing.

Teeht often offers good sincere investment advice...better to avoid this Biotreat former S chip which traded from 70cts to $1.20 ..was happy to ever sold at that price b4..imagine if hold will die die die..better to avoid S chip.. U see even so call good ones like Cosco ,YZJ,Yanlord,ChinaFish,etc ..ultimately all fumble..frank advice..someone in Channelnewsasia forum...trying to promote this counter too

The difficulty is that heavyweight water companies such as Beijing Enterprises, General Water and Veolia are now targeting the same cities that form United Water’s natural market, but with an arguably stronger proposition (the big Chinese players benefit from strong government connections, while the foreign companies have powerful brand names).

Despite the headwinds, Beeson is single-minded in his strategy. “The focus for the company will be on second- and third-tier cities,” he told GWI. “That is where the growth is.” Regardless of the fiscal problems facing China’s local governments, rapid urbanisation is going to continue to put pressure on municipalities to improve and extend their water infrastructure, he maintains.

In an effort to diversify, the company is looking into sludge treatment. With no experience in this sector, however, United Water will be arriving late to the party (see GWI August 2011 p21). Infinity’s investment injection two years ago was intended to open the door to the inclusion of Israeli technology in the company’s projects. These technologies have, however, proved to be too costly in the fiercely competitive Chinese market.

The company is also looking for ways to cooperate, rather than compete, with other companies which have either assets in China or relevant technologies. In 2011, United Water agreed a joint venture with Singapore-listed HanKore Environment for a water supply BOT in San Men Xia, Henan. HanKore has a similar profile to United Water, with a portfolio capacity of 1.2 million m3/d, and the tie-up was largely built on the personal relationship between United Water president Phillip Yu and HanKore chairman David Chen, according to Beeson.

If the San Men Xia project proves successful, a more permanent business combination further down the line could help both firms achieve scale, while giving United Water’s investors an exit route via the Singapore stock exchange.

In the Vol 12, Issue 9 (September 2011) of the Global Water Intelligence, Chen expects that the company can secure tariff increases of between 7% and 30% for three of its projects (Lianyungang, Kunshan and Xianyang) in fiscal 2012 in line with contract provisions. So far, he has delivered above expectation for Kumshan and Xiangyang with 21% and 44.3% increases in water tariff respectively. I may have missed out on Lianyungang or it has yet to be announced, if any. The credibility of Hankore and the commitment of the management and its professionalism is respectable. I'll think this company may be worth a mid-long term investment for serious investors.

Finance charges must and definitely must mean paying to capitalists/individuals/banks or finance institutions for money or for capital/assets advanced to the company for business to generate income/revenue. So if assuming they did not engage or did not have to borrow (meaning using own money/reserves if any) ro generate the income, then this company would be profiting quite an interesting amount for the report period as the accounts show.

Too many shares floating, thus very hard to move up in the absence of announcements of good news. Naturally when co. like Hancore had complete turnover of old management to new, there will be teething problems for new managers and coos and ceos, eds and so forth. Only independant directors don't grow grey hair, they shake their legs and get paid effortlessly. This applies to all listed companies where cronies of big connections are seconded to be grand of dukes.

If anyone is confused, sorry as this does not apply to Singaporeans, but Singees.

My friend said, we have to differentiate between all types of Singapore people. Singaporeans are those who are born here and citizen by birth while Singees are integrated Singapore citizens. The two would surely have different thinking and backgrounds that characterise their lives.

I believe the reason is the super strength of our Singapore dollars that makes it more attractive to sell off Hancore shares than to make profits from the China business. This causes the shares to be sold for its dollar than for its prospects.
