i suspect it has expanded too fast for the production boys to keep pace... opening too many branches means also diluting attention...bottomline, I think it may have to shrink abit more... |

frankly, i have yet to really look at the figures... waiting to talk to my finance guy when i go back to work. market understand, and claims by OSIM, seemed to point that HK is their biggest and most profitable market, with their China invasion getting stronger. they have three key lines of products within their core business - wellness, hygiene and fitness; but with their strategy of focused key products, they will of course continue to do well in wellness where they have always been known for, with some success in hygiene products which seems a surge of innovative or RE-innovated products -- should continue to be relative ok as OSIM has been following the trend well and consumers are not familiar with the bigger names from US or Europe. But for fitness, where there are many established players in the markets that they are in, OSIM has not really broke into the market and are not likely to do extremely well. OSIM is still using marketing and branding to cover the flaws in their products, but will this work in the longun if they do not product real viable quality products??? OSIM has also diversified into the supplements market (GNC) and into innovative lifestyle products (Brookestone). |

Does that mean OSIM shares should be dumped bit by bit in view of their shoddy products? Does OSIM main revenue comes from selling those products only or they diversify their business? I believe if OSIM does not buck up on their product quality sooner or later their share price will tumble down? Anyone wanna comment? |

True that OSIM's packaging and marketing campaign good better and better, and that they always have new products. The fact is that their products have not been truely innovative, and as consumers became more knowledgeable, they realised it. On top of that, OSIM had the reputation of using taiwan/ROC maufacturers with shoddy quality standars, then labelling them as Japan made. Industry talk maintains that this strategy has persisted until now. If they do not come with either truely innovatibe products are seek better quality suppliers, their market and profit margin will not be sustainable in the longrun... as it is, it is also showing the signs. |

tradewinds, Am not jumping in tt woman's defence. She tried to get compensation from OSIM but OSIM offered very measly amount like only medical expenses she incurred (i.e. OSIM admitted her bruised feet was due to malfunction of it's product. The to-ing and fro-ing took a few months. When OSIM's last offer didn't satisfy her, she sued. I am a fan of Ron Sim but we got to be objective. One product mishap after another. |

It's one bad news after another. Thankfully, its just one customer. Could have been worse. Ron is resilient and he'll bounce back from this setback. |

No end in sight to the bleeding.... Anyway, I think this lady may just be taking advantage of the situation and making a mountain out of a molehill. I hope the judge throws the case out of court and give poor Ron Sim a break. |

When I was at Changi terminal , waiting to board flight to Germany. They have free OSIM isqueez at every corners, I tried for 30 minutes, the result is good... somemore, my feet feel so good after that... they do have the instruction pasted on the machine, how to "survive" if the machine break down... well, maybe the HK woman case is really special that machine jam and her feet is too "fat", heee... haiih.. |

A pity for this innovative company, recents news all not in favor. Once announcement on quarter results made, could possibly head even lower than what we're seeing now due to market sentiments. Also too many bullish stocks on the market now to lure investors away. |

More bad news relating to OSIM's product safety. Reported on ST today. One HK consumer used its iSqueez foot massager and ended up with bruised feett. Apparently the messager stopped owrking during a session, trapping her feet. She claimed that by the time she had freed her legs, they had become swollen. She is sueing Osim for her mishap. Is OSIM expanding too quickly or not paying enough attention in its designs? It onced pride itself as in the forefront of product design. Food for thought. |

YongJiu... Apart from the obvious suggestion of eroticism when females use it, I am more interested in the horse-riding simulation aspect of the machine. It is especially useful for older people. The iGallop is a unique way to bring most of the benefits of gentle rodeo-riding to the masses. I'll definitely recommend it to inactive people who do not move about much. But do be careful that you don't fall off the iGallop. So, it's better for older people to be supervised when using the machine... |
