Spore gal, Correct me if I am wrong... From the charts, I detect weakness in SMRT and I believe it has hit the top. 1) Chaikin is trending down, esp on the weekly chart 2) Acc/Dis starting to show weakness 3) On weekly chart, this week closes as a doji with a long upper shadow 4) Upper bollinger band of 1.56 should be a strong resistance |

Haha.... I don't like to advice people when to buy or sell. You have to make the decision yourself because it really depends on your risk appetite. From TA point of view, I think this counter should still be uptrending. |

Should be still on uptrend. But weaknesses have formed in the Chaikin chart. Be cautious. |

Unconfirmed runour that I always hear. SBSTransit consolidate as the bus operator, ie taking over TransIsland Bus Service from SMRT. SMRT will take the North East Line from SBS Transit. As a result, Singapore will have 1 Bus operator, and 1 train operator in Singapore for economy of scale. Not sure if that is going to be true, but let's see. |

I've to agree with Spore gal that the charts are still bullish (esp the weekly one) but from my little knowledge of FA, I gatehr that its core operating profits only post a single digit growth...nothing to shout about. It is the one time gain such as profits from the pre paid cards etc that allows SMRT to post a good set of results. Further, its taxis n LRT are still losing $$...coupled with the expected correction in STI, hence...I expect its price to dip a bit. For v long term (more than 1 - 2 yrs), SMRT is still a v good stock n I see its potential in generating rental n advertising revenue. And if there's any news of merger with SBS, its price will really fly. |

I think it will remain on the uptrend and downside risk is low given it good dividend paid out. Look at the company retail space business. It will grow very huge given each MRT station potential retail space. The company will also benefit from the lower oil price. |
