x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	Lippo mall's offer decline at this time because singapore law forbids asset sale while takeover bid is ongoing. But lippo only offered for the property unit and not the whole of f&n. Jingsze, my view is that I'm willing take a little risk, and betting that chaoren's bid will go through. :) but up to you and depends ur risk appetite.

Still, F& N is likely to add that the bid undervalues its properties and its brewing assets in Myanmar, according to three of the people. Charoen, through Thai Beverage Pcl (THBEV) and TCC Assets Ltd., in September offered S$9 billion for the 70 percent of Singapore- based F& N he didn’t already own. F& N shareholders last month agreed to sell the company’s 40 percent stake in Tiger beer maker Asia Pacific Breweries Ltd. (APB) for S$5.6 billion to Heineken NV. (HEIA) Jennifer Yu, a spokeswoman for F& N, declined to comment. A JPMorgan official declined to comment on the firm’s recommendation. TCC Assets owns or has commitments for 33.5 percent of F& N’s shares, according to an statement to Singapore’s stock exchange today. On Oct. 8, F& N said it recorded a “revaluation surplus” of about S$498 million on some of its properties, including The Centrepoint shopping mall on Singapore’s Orchard Road. The company is still reviewing the value of real estate under development and its property management business, it said. ========   With news saying Lippo's OUE wanting to buy F & N's hospitality operations @ S$1.4B, it is getting more complicated.... So will TB raise offer price of $8.88???

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	i think it will break through only if they have gain a majority share (50%) of F& N. That will allow them more say in the management, and possibly help in boosting ThaiBev books.  Otherwise, there possess a risk involved that they fail. If that fails, then ThaiBev's share price is going to tumble. While the Sum-of-parts of F& N possesses higher value, ThaiBev's offer is undervalued (that's why ThaiBev is keen to offer at 8.88). If it goes through, its a huge profit for ThaiBev & TCC. If it doesn't, they will be paying more than needed, and that it will be difficult to offload F& N at their offer price.  I think from now till the end of the month, there may be swings (going down and up), until we get more news on their holding. If Kirin makes their move known, then it is clear they will get the major share. :)
