Most management tend to give excuses when sales begin to slow. But investors ( not punters ) have to examine the excuse. If for example the management of Mercedes Benz says that sales of the marque in China was adversely affected because of dubious cliams from Chinese car manufacturers that their cars are as good as BMW ....you have to think ....Huh !!!! Mercs sales affected by poor imitaion from Chinese cars makers ? |

Yes, Fisher... agree... :) It's human nature (which cannot be changed), until the losses begin to teach. People will surely tend to defend the stocks they already own, but which are going down. It may also be that they are defending due to the fact that they don't really know which way the stocks are heading. Thus, they are helpless against the whims of the market and are always at it's mercy. |

This counter will go lower. Many holders of this stock are still in denial mode. They continue to believe that it should continue to trade at a premium and revenue will continue to grow. They refuse to acknowledge that growth may have stopped. Usually it takes time for holders to come to terms that the fairy tale has come to an end , the clock has struck twelve. The stock is trading at 3 times book and to think that at one time it was trading at 7 times book. It has nett assets of 170 mio . But this includes 34 mio of intangibles, 91.6 mio of inventories, 50 mio from trade debtors !!! Opps ! about the same as Nett Assets ? Investors will be better off buying Challenger, no debt, real cash and little investories and trading at very low P.E. But Challenger is not a glamourous counter, no celebrity CEO and celebrities like Shu Qi ( sound like lose already in Hokkien ) to put it in the limelight. Time will tell. When the tide goes down, we will know who are those swimming without clothes. |

The iGallap, being a machine which is designed to simulate the movements like those experienced on a horseback, will develope those sets of muscles used in balancing, and thus cultivates one's sense of balance when used regularly. |

pikachu... No... if you haven't ridden on one, how can you summise that it trains only the buttock muscles??? In any case, there's not much 'buttock muscles' to build on. It's the 'rodeo' effect, apart from other effects, when one is riding the iGallop that accounts for it's superb benefits... :) Why not get yourself one when you next get out with a profit? |

actually OSIM does not spend much on product research, they only spend on market research. All the products they have churned off thus far have been modified versions of products that have been in the market for at least 5 years. If you read up on all these products on japanese magazines and on taiwanese manufacturer websites, you will know that both the japanese and taiwanese are very familiar with such products |

iPunter, I thought iGallop trains your buttock muscles right? What does that have to do with your sense of balance? Hahaha.. |

Osim's bollinger bands are getting tighter, indicating that sudden price change may occur. Overall, the TA charts are bearish. Be very cautious. |

In my humble opinion, Osim's problem lies not only in the poor reception its new products have been getting, its also that it is increasingly finding it difficult to differentiate between itself and its competitors. The flagship products for Osim, I think, are its massage chairs and foot massages. These products are what most people associate Osim with. Unfortunately, these products are now copied by their competitors and they are a dime a dozen now. Sigh... |

wait4opp has made such an excellent point... :) I remember many years back there was "Yaohan" and "Mohan" both in Orchard Road. So it takes no guessing where the masses will go to save money... hehe... :) |

U Pa Pa is not a good name to use. If I am going to buy something to use, I will definitely not buy something that already tell me "USED PA PA" sounds like Used already still afraid of. OSIM is going to suffer if they going to use this name.....WHO dare to buy "USED PA PA" product. |

Singaporegal is perfectly right about this... The good intentions are there, but the market is not appreciating it or is not ready for it. For example, although they have such a superb and ingeniously conceived product as the iGallop, it's not making any headway because of this. So the lesson to be learnt here appears to be: "give the market what people want; don't just give it what is good, but is not what they want or, as in the case of the iGallop, can want" (actually, it's the commonsense of demand) |
