hengsuan, if you want to play contra, 10 lots you can't see much earning, the best give you 0.41 sell done, you only earn less than 200, I don't think that's a good "business".. unless the news is solid. |

I see. I tot you are still holding on and today 0.375 is the highest it can go (...) and close@ 0.365. I forget to share that usually, looking at daily closing is a much reliable guide as the closing is like a ~~ fence ~~. Sometimes, the seller panick and push beyond the fence but, that is not a reliable consesus of the masses. Aniwae, no worries. Market is always there and cheerios (...) |

Aleong, Mediaring will try to test doubleTop resistance@0.38. The double bottom support@0.355 (or neckline support) holds true few days back. Aniwae, if you wana cash out, look out for 0.38 if it cannot penetrate. just sharing. bear with me. |

Date : 15 January 2007, 2325 hrs SINGAPORE : Plans by Connect Holdings to buy a controlling stake in Pacific Internet could spur MediaRing into a counter offer. Under existing rules, MediaRing would have to wait until July this year to make another offer for the internet services provider. But if Connect Holdings launches its bid, lawyers say, MediaRing would be able to make another offer soon and this could mean a bidding war for PacNet. So Mainboard-listed online telephony firm MediaRing may not have to sit out on the takeover game for an entire year after all. Now that Connect Holdings is working out the details for an offer for PacNet, MediaRing could be back into the fray sooner than expected. Lawyers say the process is relatively easy, albeit rare. C Chandrasegar, Head - Corporate Finance, Mergers and Acquisitions, Tan Peng Chin LLC, says: "You go to the authorities and said there's another offer on the table, please free me from this ban so that I can then give another option to the shareholders. It's unusual actually to have a bidding war in the Singapore scenario because the Singapore market is very small. But having said that, there have been cases." MediaRing failed in July to buy over stock from more than 50 percent of PacNet's shareholders largely because Vantage Corp wanted to hold on to its almost 29 percent stake. Vantage owns a 28.6 percent stake in PacNet and is now the internet service provider's second largest shareholder. It has been on the prowl for a core business to keep its listing status on SGX, prompting its latest move to sell a 16.3 percent stake to Bermuda-registered Connect Holdings. But last Friday, Vantage announced that it was selling a 16 percent stake to Connect, which is created by three private equity firms - Ashmore Group, Spinnaker Capital Group and Clearwater Capital. It has also undertaken to sell its remaining stake to Connect should the private equity group launch a general takeover for PacNet for US$10. With its hand on a 42 percent shareholding, Connect will only need to get another 8 percent to cross the 50 percent level for a majority stake. Mr C Chandrasegar says: "In a listed company, as long as you have more than 50 percent, you virtually control the company. It's expensive to launch a takeover offer. And if you want to have total control of the company, you should do it from Day One. Apart from the cost factor, there's actually a restriction in the takeover code which says that once you acquire 50 percent, you're not allowed to launch a second offer for a period of 6 months at a price above the offer." Because the counter offer is designed to maximise shareholders' interest, lawyers say it makes sense to wait out for the best bid. Now keep in mind though that as you wait, the bidder can shore up enough acceptances to buy a controlling stake of more than 50 percent. But lawyers say not to worry, as investors who hold the remaining shares still have a window of two weeks to decide whether to sell at the offer price or hang on. Should Connect's potential offer be countered by MediaRing, lawyers say each firm will have two months to complete the takeover. - CNA/ch |

aleong, It had broken out of downtrend resistance of 0.34. In my opinion, you can consider cut-loss only if 0.355 is breach (eg. at 0.350). Such profit taking after a sharp jump is not uncommon due to the overbuy factors (etc). Of course, how deep is ur pocket or holding power depends on 1) how huge ur position & 2) your entry price This is only my opinion. At ur own risk, do ur own analysis. Not intended to influence.
