Our pivot point is at 0.778.
Our preference: the downside prevails as long as 0.778 is resistance.
Alternative scenario: above 0.778, look for 0.808 and 0.825.
Comment: the RSI is below 30. It could either mean that the stock is in a
lasting downtrend or just oversold and therefore bound to retrace (look for
bullish divergence in this case). The MACD is below its signal line and
negative. The configuration is negative. Moreover, the share stands below its
20 and 50 day MA (standing respectively at 0.78 and 0.76). Finally, Golden
Agri-Resources has penetrated its lower daily Bollinger band (0.74).

Asian stocks slipped because of concerns that rising inflation may invite aggressive policy action and hurt growth in the world's engines like China and India. U.S. shares also fell overnight on lackluster tech and materials earnings.   By the midday break, the Straits Times Index (STI) <.FTSTI> was down 0.24%, or 7.60 points, at 3,197.88. The total value of shares traded in the morning session was $789.8 million, down from $1.1 billion on Thursday.   Blue-chips were mostly down with financials such as Oversea-Chinese Banking Corp (OCBC.SI) down 0.7% and commodities firm also weak with Noble (NOBG.SI) off 1.3%.   Some local traders said more downside is on the cards as the key psychological level of 3,200 points had been crossed, but others said the STI may rise in the afternoon as the sell-off on Thursday was already significant.   “The market is at an inflection point. So far the U.S. earnings that we have seen have been rather poor...and China tightening fears are like a double whammy,” said Tey Tze Ming, a market strategist at Saxo Capital Markets.   “The selling seems to be rather broad-based - there is a risk-off kind of play,” he said.   Shares of Raffles Education (RLSE.SI), a Singapore education services provider, outperformed the broader market. They rose as much as 7.8% after BNP Paribas said the firm has identified a partner to co-develop a property it owns in China.   At midday, Raffles Education shares were up 4.7% at $0.335 on a volume of 37.8 million shares.

BNP Paribas analyst Brenda Lee says the recent rally has come on the back of potential positive news flow from the Oriental University City (OUC) development after RLS said it had identified a property developer to co-develop the OUC land to monetise its $394 million investment.  “Should the company successfully develop the existing 280,000 sqm residential site within OUC, we believe it should be able to generate substantial investment returns,” Lee says.    She notes, RLS estimates the residential property development can fetch CNY7,000/sqm, on land cost of $94/sqm (around CNY480/sqm) at a development cost of CNY3000-3500/sqm.    Lee has not included any potential property development earnings from OUC but says “earnings growth potential looks skewed to the upside.” House is revisiting its estimates; it has a Buy rating on the stock with a $0.33 target. $0.350 is likely the near-term cap.

1. GentingHK indicators don't look bullish, and has been sideways since October. The only real reason for a rally is potential good earnings in the coming quarter. I am not tracking this stock so I do not know if it has potentially good earnings coming quarter.

2. There is a buy call today actually for ComfortDelgro. Short-term indicators look bearish but profit potential is good for coming quarter. This is a slow moving stock, so have to be very patient. And today looks like white candle will be formed.  I will post the buy call later.

3.  You bought Noble at the high of $2.30++. Short-term indicators bearish, support around 2.23. Profit potential for coming quarter is good, riding on high prices of commodities in the Oct-Dec 2010 period. Risk factor is fear of China interest rate hike which has downward pressure on most commodity prices.

4. Kepland is reporting Q4 results next week. Office rental yields have been good last year, so the results are expected to be good. Kepland indicators bearish and RSI oversold, due to the recent property measures in Singapore, and also the China interest rate hike fears. We know Kepland has properties in China. Today Kepland probably a white candle, meaning a likely reversal from the oversold RSI. Strong support around 4.48.

In my opinion? Kepland tempting but risky. Because if China hikes interest rate over weekend, this property stock will have downward pressure. But today's white candle may signal reversal from oversold RSI, perhaps its the start of the pricing-in of likely positive results next week. But nobody knows until the results are out. If results are good, the gap-up may take out any chance of a entry. But if you enter today and results are bad, the gap-down may result in big losses.

So earnings play is potentially risky yet rewarding. Thats all I can say. Personally not vested in Kepland.
