Ezra does not sky rocket in the same direction as Kepcorp. Just that in a bullish market environment, Ezra is more likely to sky rocket. But history has shown that Ezra can also fly even in bearish environment, whenever BBs decide to take action.

Other than speculative reason, if the main players like Kep & SCM can't "chiong", i wonder how this one is going to perform?

ezra should be in the play in STI coming trading days. it has pick up some gains after falling $0.1 in a single day after announcing it drop in net profits. however such drop are due to forex lost and gains thru divesting in previous Q. i believe STI will see some form of minor rally before CNY. cap at 1800. i would be a seller if above 1800.\ |

Ezra takes proactive steps to review MFSV newbuild options One order, valued at S$69m, was placed with Keppel Singmarine in May with delivery expected in 2010 Group chooses to take more cautious approach, moving to revisit its capex plans in view of the financial crisis Remains positive about outlook for offshore oil & gas support services SINGAPORE, 27 NOVEMBER 2008 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Ezra Holdings Limited (Ezra, the Group or 以斯拉控股), a leading integrated offshore support and marine services provider in the offshore oil & gas (O&G) industry, is proactively reviewing its orderbook of five multi-functional support vessels (MFSVs) in view of the uncertainty arising from the current financial crisis. The first of its 30,000 brake horsepower (bhp) MFSV options to come under review is Ezra’s most recent order with Keppel Singmarine Pte Ltd. The newbuild contract, valued at S$69 million, excluding the cost of certain owner-furnished equipment, was placed in May with delivery expected in 2010. Said Ezra’s Managing Director, Mr Lionel Lee: “Just as we have always exercised caution in the past, we are taking a prudent approach by revisiting our capital expenditure plans and exploring our options, even though relevant financing for this vessel has been secured.” “We are positive about our medium-term prospects as enquiries for offshore support vessel charters remain firm. The Group will continue to strengthen its financial position, and will focus on consolidating our integrated solutions approach to become Asia’s leading offshore support services supplier to the oil & gas sector.” Just last month, the Group reported a net attributable profit of US$175.4 million for the full year ended 30 August 2008 (FY08), a jump of 157% year-on-year, thanks to an 87% improvement in revenue to US$268.3 million. The Group’s interest cover doubled to 29 times because of strong contributions from its core offshore support and marine services divisions. It kicked off its current FY09 financial year with a net gearing of less than 12%. |

Just look at their balance sheet before deciding. R they flush with cash, debt free or entrenched with IOUs
to their eyeballs?
Some companies are simply in no position to buyback and delist. Better for them to conserve cash especially in this environment. It's easier said than done. If this chap gets away with such frivolous comments, speculative as it is, soon u will be hearing similar statements from various companies just to prop up their share price. Dangerous precedence!

"Mr Lionel Lee was a general response to a speculative question " hence shows that it's more likely that he does not intend to buy back even though there MIGHT be a possibility of him doing so. Dun do anything rash IMO. |

EZRA HOLDINGS LIMITED (Incorporated in the Republic of Singapore) Company Registration No: 199901411N (the “Company”) CLARIFICATION PURSUANT TO BLOOMBERG INTERVIEW AND ARTICLE OF 7 NOVEMBER 2008 We refer to the television interview of Mr Lionel Lee, managing director of the Company, by Bloomberg on 7 November 2008 and the article, “Ezra may buy back, delist Shares after stock slumps, Lee says” published by Bloomberg on the same day. Mr Lionel Lee was quoted to have said that “Ezra Holdings Ltd…may buy back Shares in the next 12 months after its stock fell 76% this year” and that “the Company is also considering delisting its Shares from the Singapore Exchange”. The Company wishes to clarify as follows: (1) the comment given by Mr Lionel Lee was a general response to a speculative question after the interview with Bloomberg on whether the Company was open to considering various options or corporate actions to embark on a Share buy back or a privatisation process if the Share prices were low; (2) Mr Lionel Lee responded as a passing remark a Share buy back or a delisting may be considered if and when the Share prices are very low (this being a natural consideration for any listed company, provided it is in the best interest of the Company and depending on the financial position of the Company and market conditions prevailing at the relevant time); and (3) no intentions have been formed by the Company currently to undertake any Share buy backs or delistings from the Official List of the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited. By order of the Board Lee Chye Teck Lionel Managing Director Singapore 7 November 2008
