Is Biosensors a good buy?

Technically, Biosensors hit a low of 0.85 cents today and yesterday, which also corresponds to 24 july low - showing that this support is holding, in this correction which took place, when it hit a recent high of 0.975. also, if you draw a trendline from the low of 0.58 cents (jun 08), to join the low of 0.75 (july 17), you get a trendline projection that touches the 0.85 cents level. In the interim, this low of 0.85 cents must hold, for the trendline to be valid (ie not violated). Also, if you draw a trendline from the recent high of 1.01, to meet the other high of 0.975, you will get a triangle formation, and it is conceivable that the stock might trade within the boundaries of this triangle, until, it breaks out in either direction, possibly within the next week or so. At the resistance level, the stock will begin to look more bullish, if it clears 0.94, and will probably attempt to clear 0.975, as well (once 0.94 is cleared). If the stock were to clear 1.01, then things will really, really look bullish, however, I believe that close attn should be paid to the vol,, when this happens, as sometimes breakouts may not be genuine. |

At $0.90 cents, it seem to have strong support, buy on dip as market is seem to be absorbing all the bad news and all d good news, oso going forward this stock will take it turn to move up and not down when it break away from one dollar, it will be your turn to decide sell or hold and if the surge is great, it is sufficient enough to convince u to let go and buy back later when price settle down a little. |

Biosensors rose after UOBKH put out a report with a target price of $1.29. On Thursday, Biosensors reported a net loss of US$6.7m for the first quarter of its 2007 financial year, which was smaller than UOBKH's estimate of US$7-8m. The broker said Biosensors is still waiting to hear whether it has been awarded the CE Mark for its BioMatrix drug-eluting stents, which would allow the product to be sold in Europe, providing a catalyst for growth. "The CE Mark might be awarded in this quarter or the next quarter," UOB Kay Hian analyst Lawrence Lye told Reuters. "That will generate into a lot of sales for the company." |

Just to put the facts right - The Biomatrix has not yet been approved for sale in any country yet. I believe that the Business Times article probably refers to the sale of their first Drug eluting stent product, which is the Axxion, and is approved for sale in Europe. What is important, my belief, as highlighted in the BT article ,is that some of their peers in the industry are looking to use Biosensor's technology, and if you look at the some of the big medical players in the States, I believe that companies like ST Jude does not have a DES solution, while the big existing players like J & J do not have a bio-degradble polymer program yet (I can't understand why?). Also, the article mentioned that Biosensors may have an option to go for a secondary listing in Japan, or Nasdaq, etc - I presume to raise more cash, as their cash may run out in 2 year's time (my estimate), at the rate that they are aggresively conducting clinical trials. (which is a must in this industry to gain credibility for the product). |

Expects to capture up to 10% of the global heart stent market by 2011 with its BioMatrix stent. BioMatrix which made up nearly 25% of sales in its last FY to Mar '06, will grow to account for >75% of sales by 2008. |

Biosensors seems to be on an uptrend at the moment, and nobody really knows when it will end, just like nobody really knows that the recent downtrend ended at 0.59. But, for those who bought at the price of 0.70 or below, if they have sold, when it goes up a few cents, then they would have miss the huge run-up. If I have a position at a much lower price, i would apply a rising stop-loss, eg, i first mentioned 0.785, with the recent rise, i would upped the stop loss point to 0.885 (yesterday's low).. that is, if the price does not fall below that, i would still hold the position. Having said that, each person have to know their own risk apetite, eg, what if u dont sell at today's price of 0.98, will u regret if the price drops later on. What if you dont excercise the discipline to cut off at 0.885, and it goes down lower ? |

Thanks for your advice. In your opinion, should I cut loss or hold on till it reaches my price of $1.23. Looks like I could only buy in when the price drops to 595 {impossible}...... Will learn as I go along. thanks to Guru advice. |

Hi lowalice, It has resistance around $1.01. Will most probably fall from here. You should take analysts' price targets with a pinch of salt. Apply a safety margin. It's too late now. When it fell to $0.595, you should be bold and average down. Then at current price, you can still make a profit. |

lowalice, always buy low and sell high and do not chase after the stock that everybody rush in at high price then you will be safe. |

I bought it at $1.23 and it went up to $1.52 in a week but did not sell and now lost money... Dare not go in anymore. Hope that it reaches my capital sigh! |

I once believe in analylist too instead of going $2/-, i m stuck at $1/- now, so i paper lost a few thousand $$$ liao, believe in it, good luck to U, have some profit, take some and leave some for other. |

For some, it will be profit taking before it contiune it run up again to above one dollars, but to hit $1.40 it will take a few more round. |

Biosensors has reached the projected lower target resistance of 0.89, just now. One of the reasons for today's interest, is that Deutche Bank has reiterate their buy call today with price target of 1.40, again because of the 'biodegradable polymer' play. |

Yes, the stock has gone up quite a bit, and it looks overbought. For those who may want to get in right now, it looks a bit rsky, as u don't know when it will start to correct. On hindsight, yesterday's price below 0.80 looks reasonable. Technically, the uptrend still looks intact, with the next noticeable resistance between 0.89 to 0.93 cents. However, if it ever drops and close below yesterday's low of 0.785 , it would probably trigger a deeper correction. In other words, if i were to buy at current prices, i would place a stop loss at just below that point. (my own personal opinion, not an inducement for anyone to trade). From my own experience, I never underestimate the importance of 'stop loss'. Again, on hindsight, looking at the chart of Biosensors, when it broke the strong support of 1.08, and then proceed to break, the next support of 0.98, the outcome was pure panic. Coming back to recent events, Conors, again went up in the States, last night, so the 'play' on bio-degradable polymers is still there, and there is also an analyst conference on 26-27 june, with CLSA for Biosensors, which hopefully will provide some additional support to the share price. |

Investor, you're right. Biosensors and US-based Conor Medsystems are the only 2 companies that make biodegradable stents, which could prevent blood clots from forming. Anyway, price has surged and looks overheated. Normal for some profit taking and correction. |
