Asian stock markets were mostly higher on Friday with Australia hitting a fresh five year high, as Chinese growth data for the third quarter pointed toward stabilization in the region's largest economy.
The headline gross domestic product data  came out at 7.8% for the most recent quarter, accelerating from the 7.5% growth in the second quarter. It matched the median forecast of 18 economists surveyed by The Wall Street Journal.
Early in the summer, signs of a slowdown along with a liquidity crunch in June, damaged sentiment toward China. In more recent months, there has been a pickup in economic data, suggesting that the economy could be recovering.
