The multipurpose construction vessel, AMC Contractor, will be used for the project when it commences in 3Q13. This is in addition to existing contracts that EMAS AMC won earlier in the year: 1) a mooring installation contract in Jan worth US$30m from MODEC for the hookup of an FPSO, 2) a US$12m contract from ABB to install subsea power cables. These developments are encouraging as it shows that demand for Ezra’s services remain in a relatively muted subsea environment, though activities are expected to intensify going forward. We maintain our BUY rating and S$2.20 fair value estimate on Ezra. (Low Pei Han) iocbc

Contract with Statoil will involve EMAS AMC supplying and installing 55km of power cables along with associated terminations and ancillaries for the Gudrun field in the North Sea. State-of-the-art multipurpose construction vessel, AMC Connector, will be used for this project when it commences in the 3Q FY13….. On back of contract win, DMG maintains Buy with $2.40 TP, tipping win the beginning of a new exciting chapter. View contract announcement positively and see FY11 as a transition year for Ezra to integrate AMC and build the backlog orders and FY12 is the yr where earnings are set to show strong growth due to higher deployment of assets building a solid order backlog that will optimise utilisation of fleet and other assets.

The new contract, awarded by Norway's Statoil, will see the company supplying and installing 55 kilometres of power cables in the North Sea. Ezra said that this project will start in the third quarter of 2013 and will involve a multi-purpose construction vessel. In the same filing to the Singapore Exchange, the marine services provider also said that it has completed its acquisition of Aker Marine Contractors. Looking ahead, the firm said outlook for the offshore oil and gas sector is bright and it expects subsea activities to intensify. Ezra also expects to provide an expanded range of services going forward.
