No I do not know that case but the offer has to still be at the recent average price. They cannot just make any offer. So likely, just like Tangs, the shareholders were screwed by majority owner. Tangs had claimed losses for more than ten years till price from high of more than $3.00 drop to below .80 cents. But all along they owned the goldmine property at Orchard Road that they refused to capitalise. With CNA, they have been declaring profit and now dividend. So if they want to delist, it has to be above current price. Just how much above ?

You still remember what happen to FinaOne Corporation? The bugger delist here  without a premium and a discount to their NAV and go relist in Taiwan for triple the price!

No.  To delist, they need to make an offer to all shareholders. Usually means must put a premium. Delisting is good news most times. Only example where it was bad news was with Tangs where the majority owner just kept bleeding the company over the years until valuation really bad, then delisted the company. Delisting price was based on avareage trading price but very very much lower than NTA in that case.

Keep a close watch on this. It may be the next target for play. Has not risen much and lately have noted some nibbling that is more than usual. BB's may be quietly accumulating....

In tis market, no chance to 'quietly' collect. The better strategy is to block -- and it discourages accumulators.

That is one theory. But if they sell more shares to public, they would still have to buy it back as with most privatization exercises. My limited experience tells me that they should be quietly collecting shares then selling them. |

Always got big sell blocks, so how to move up? Why got sell blocks? :-) Not difficult to guess. It's to prevent the price from running high. Otherwise delisting exit price will have to be set higher, mah. U see Ernest has noted the big sell queues:  |

All these takeover takes time to disscuss amongst the SS holders and agree the price and other things. So have to wait till they sort out all these things.  BE PATIENT and you will make money.  Cheers.

May be soon. Pennies rally have been mostly  rotational and fnuds are moving around. CAH shares had little volume but yesterday's volume  picked up a little. I see this as possibly some nibling starting....

Despite China Animal Health's good results and good delistment potential, but why is this stock not rallying in this current broad penny rally? Even those lousy penny stocks including other s-chips oso rally liao. Anyone wanna share his views why?

By DBS vicker Expect attractive offer for delisting. On 18 Oct 2011, CAL announced that it is exploring a possible delisting from the SGX. The promoters of the delisting from SGX are keen and hence we believe the exit offer will be favourable to ensure success.    Outlook continues to be positive. Export of FMD is another potential share price catalyst. We believe outlook will continue to be positive having obtained indicative orders for the next six to 12 months. Demand will be supported by high wholesale pork prices and strong domestic pork consumption. Potential export of animal foot and mouth disease (FMD) vaccine would be another stock catalyst.  Maintain Buy, TP S$0.46. We have tweaked our EPS forecasts by -6.6%/-1.3% for FY11F/FY12F on slower than expected ramp up FMD in 3Q11, but expect margins to recover from 3Q11. We maintain our valuation and target price at 13x FY12F PE and S$0.46, supported by positive growth outlook and potential delisting. Exit offer needs to be attractive. SGX's " no objection" to CAL's potential delisting is subject to controlling shareholders abstaining from voting at the EGM. This means that it will be more difficult to achieve the " 75% present and voting in favour of the delisting" criteria at the EGM without controlling shareholders' vote (promoters have approximately 53%). The exit offer price needs to be attractive to win over the independent shareholders in order to fulfill the " 75% voting in favour" threshold. Also the EGM must fulfill the criteria of not more than “10% voting against” the delisting.   Positive outlook Outlook continues to be positive sustained by strong domestic demand for pork.  Outlook for the next 6-12 months remains positive with healthy indicative orders for its swine fever vaccines and PRRS vaccines from 17 provinces and municipalities worth approximately RMB25m and RMB50m respectively. Demand for drugs and vaccines will be supported by high wholesale pork prices (RMB25.47/kg on 21 October 2011) and strong domestic pork consumption.    |
