Poor performance of Genting is actually due to the love-hate affairs of the govt relationships with the casino. In one sense it is trying to be the angel to help employment and in the other trying to be the devil to be a revenue for indulgence.. And both of them are having the same constraints, keeping in line and conflicting in their own philosophies. They are both confused, in some ways.

Macau gambling revenue up but sg down. It imply Singapore rely on south east Asia market. China people not really willing to come to sg for gambling. Government rules tightening also one of the reason to affect their revenue.

Genting SP: 3Q12 Net Profit Down 47% To S$110.3 Million.

Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore Integrated Resort, contributed revenue of S$662.0 million and adjusted EBITDA of S$304.0 million. Comparing to the second quarter of 2012, overall revenue and adjusted EBITDA was affected by a lower win percentage in the premium player business. Other business segments remain healthy with Universal Studios Singapore recording a daily average visitation of 9,100 visitors and average spend of S$86. The hotel business saw an increase in occupancy rate to 93% with an average room rate of S$432. As the Marine Life Park moves into its final pre-operations phase, the Company continue to incur pre-opening operating costs without corresponding revenue...

The profit down was partly due to the incur pre-opening operating costs for the Marine Life Park's final pre-operations phase.

Market may has already expecting this to be the worst result and share price may start to recover from here. Let see how market will react this coming Wednesday.

Genting SP only went down to touch $1.22 on 26/07/2012 and created a double bottom formation on 13/08/2012 at $1.235 . It did a technical rebounce from here to $1.42 on 17/09/2012 n made a double top formation on 19/09/2012 . It came down rapidly n broke the lower border line of the bearish rising wedge at $1.375 on 01/10/2012 . It fell almost non stop after that to reach $1.235 on 09/11/2012 Friday closing . Genting SP may reach $1.16 this round , if the volume is huge , the downtrend may continue . No moving average is supporting the trend , RSI is at oversold position n Directional movement index are all pointing to long term downtrend .

Net profit down 34% is in line with expectation...

unacceptable one is that EPS down 47%... how many share have they granted to themselves? it is like a government that keep printing money and dilute the value.... Smiley

If Mabel's role is to bring in regional big players then why she brought in local players? Seem like she wasn't that great in regional networking.

Anyway, share price was down so much before result, it seem like not going to be good. However, looking from the otherside, if result is within the market expectation of " bad result" , it won't go down much more.
