hi 1041 !.. thanks for pointing out... I should be more careful with my words... but the fact remains ( and I was trying to point out that Joh Pai Moi gan & no Credit suissy's recommendations, do carry weight in market and because of this cannot hide behind caveat emptor to anyhow recommend) that they are link to GemTv sudden rise and fall.. can we excuse them because they say caveat emptor??? personally I would not trust them anymore... |

Hey c'kiasu, on one hand you condemned others' warning of caveat emptor and on the other hand you're telling Forumers here to be careful and beware of the Market without realizing that it was also a caveat emptor call. BTW, there isn't any FREE LUNCH in the Markets! Cheers! |

the fact still remains however that according to Credit Suisse, who said they had lunch business meeting with Gem TV top management.. next two quarters will be "weak" and they say target is 70cts.. so Zhuge, top management does not know than that they are hiring hillyer ?? very baffling... and what about the problem of competition in UK taking away their market share...etc... anyway, why not wait till at least Nov and lets see.. why the rush to possibly get conned again? |

in addition i just feel a little weird abt the whole situation. suddenly all brokerages say that this is at 1 or 1.25... if i am working as broker, i would not tell you.. something v funny |

According to my broker, it rose on talks of accumulation by funds. It also announced that Tony Hillyer has been appointed MD of Gems TV (UK) Limited. Mr Hillyer brings nearly 3 decades of relevant experience to Gems TV and has worked in a variety of sectors spanning retail, home shopping, consumer goods and gaming. According to the company, his thorough understanding of the UK retail customer demographic will further strengthen Gems TV?s ability to anticipate dynamic consumer preferences, allowing the company to continue to offer fresh and exciting products to its UK customer base in unique ways. I mentioned Gems TV could reach around $1.00 on 8/6. My analysis was based on TA and not the analyst' report. It reached $0.85. Now $1.00 is not that far away, right? |

good post, Apple123... the predicted profits for such long a time frame amounts to nothing... but in the timing of the announcement they have a tremendours pyschological effect...all these suggests collusion to artificially drive up the stock... hey ten4one.. we are not talking about ordinary objective brokers, poor Credit Sissy underwrites the IPO, and is privy to coy information, Joh Pai Moi Gan was the anchor instiutional investor of the IPO (and they were amongst the first to sell out that caused the first & probably second & third plunge) .. I suggest you trace their track record in all this sordid affair... and you want to join them with their smirky remarks like "business lunch meeting" etc to keep calling caveat emptor??? |

The analyst report estimated its fair value based on predicted profits in year 2009. That is 2 years from now. The longer the time frame used to predict profits, the higher the risk that the fair value may not be met. Better be careful if you are buying this stock. If the next quaterly report is not favorable, the stock will start to go down again. |

Let's be fair to the Brokerage Firms and their calls ( it is just their points of views). It is caveat emptor market where no one is absolutely sure what is going to happen in the future. I think the Bidders were all traders in for quick bucks and maybe a few more adventurous retail players that have been caughtand hoping that the 'self-prophecy' comes true. Cheers! |

these brokerage firms' "buy calls" are really influential....just recent weeks it was a laughing stock all the way downwards...now up because people are "told" to buy... |

Well, I think its the managment to blame.. How can the result be worst as a few finance house say its a Gems? Hehe...I dun think there will be any selling after the upgrade. Cause the one that said will hold and hold.. |

A stock gets bashed down. An analyst finds it undervalued. Then it surges. This happens quite often. I bought at $0.67. I think it may reach around $1.00. |
