Good luck. I am sure you will do better when you are able to overcome the psychological aspect of cutting loss and protecting capital. I was taught to treat it as business overhead - a cost you have to bear in doing any business. | ||||

Thank you for all your comments. I have done averaging and made money. I have also done averaging that lose more money....I have yet to master the skills on cutting loss. It is very difficult to implement and I have the habit of delaying & hoping that market will recover soon. Sometimes, I also said to myself that since I have already lose so much, I might as well hold on further. I know that this is wrong and I am now determined to sell my Freight Link, Lian Beng, Twinwood etc. |

The chart looks promising lately. Price is creeping up gradually with increaing volume. It tells me that there are people accumulating. I will not sell in such a situation. Whether to buy to average at this point really depends on your risk appetite. It is always important to ask yourself how much you are prepared to lose for each trade you make. So, when market turns against you, you are psychologically prepared for that loss. As a rule of thumb, many traders use 8% or a certain pre-determined sum that they are comfortable with (e.g. $1000) for stop loss. Whichever comes first, they will cut. Hope this will help you to decide. |

I read the charts for you... this one has low volume so if you average and increase your holdings, you might find it difficult to get out. Hard to predict the trend for this one because its a low volume/low price counter. |

ok lah... its only a $800 loss... I always find averaging very deadly... the last time I did it, it just compounded my losses. I think you better think carefully before doing it. |
