From the General Election, the PAP got about 60% of the votes and the opposition got 40%. From the 60% that voted for PAP, I guessed that 35% (hardcore PAP supporters) will go to TT while TCB will get 25% in the PE. Of the 40% that voted for the oppositions, 25% (hardcore opposition supporters) will go to TJS and the remaining 15% may go to TKL.

 

But TKL got only about 5%, which means 10% has gone to TCB to give TCB getting close to 35%. This shows that 70% are PAP supporters but 10% decided to vote for the oppositions in the GE to show their displeasure.

 

One of the anger was HDB housing. Noted that we need about 12500 new HDB flats annually but MBT built only 2500 units. I think the govt wanted to reduce the reliance on HDB flats by forcing the citizen to buy private flats  indirectly by under-supplying new HDB flats. The govt may target to reduce HDB flat dwellers to 50% (say) and MBT wanted to quickly achieved the KPI. He could cut down slowly to 10000 new HDB flats  in yr1, 7500 in year 2, 5000 in year 3 and finally to 2500 annually after year 4.
