OK, if the buyer (Mdm Tang) bought from the market,   it would kill the shortists dead as a corpse. 27 cents will lose him/them 21++ cents.   So don't know if there is a shortist for PSC who is well loved?

Obviously there is a value in buying the shares from the market as they are going for cheap considering the well established and well known provision importers and suppliers in PSC Corp.  The recent insider buy and sell price (between " friends" of the company and associates) reported the price sold at $0.4886 per share in the transaction.  In the stock market, it is only $0.27 per share.  NTA per share is $0.50.  So considering the nature of the cheap price, it is worth for investment.  Furthermore it is profit making company.  BASAYOR |

I had kept their shares for many years and whenever it was cheap, I bought them, from 24 cents to 26 cents.   The dividends has been quite ok with me because some companies give only less then one cent and yet their shares are moving up and down quickly.   PSC is a bit slow moving but the groups's NTA, if not wrong, is slightly above 50 cents now, and it is currently trading at approximtely 44% discount to the net asset per share. Occasionally the company buys back its own shares, but I think they should do something to reflect its value and capitalization.   In business that is very important, capitalization of a listed company. I used to attend their AGMs and like the goody bags they give to shareholders at the meeting, i look forward to get it also at the forthcoming AGM,   but I sincerely hope they can also give some rewards for shareholders' loyalty in holding the investment in the company..

In the 90's when Carrefour reach our shore, PSC should have started Supermarket and even Hypermart.....so....they are stupid or what......actually no. They have the warehouses, the contacts, the experiences and a wallet to do just that, but they simply can't to it.  Because of the Econ-minimart franchise.  If they have started it, the 3000+ or so shops would have run off.  They don't have the choice.  A missed opportunity that will never repeat again here.......Fairprice, Giant-ColdStorage-Shop& Save, ShengSong........ BTW, where do you go for groceries, izzzit :   a) FairPrice b) iEcon c) Giant Group d) Sheng Song   And Carrefour is dying..... So how ?  Well, they are still around, pay reasonable DIV. A company with track record indeed. They own the Fortune Noodle Brand which have since started to do other soya product, bean curd for steamboat and etc......plus other brand and private labels.  This is their only way out.......of course.....they start selling Solar Cell or those Green Thrill Crap product. (Nothing against going Green but there are pple who spend a lifetime designing, building these product.......not switchover suddenly and say I am a Green Company) The bottomline, honest pple in PSC trying to make things happen lor. These type of business is recession resistant, and rather hard to go bust.....unless.....they don't keep up with time.  And being a vendor to these Hypermart can also be very competitive.  BTW, you buy Fortune Noodle before.....I tell you.....a fantastic material to cook fried mee....not bitter at ALL. See the little magic compare with others - slightly cheaper noodle. Just my thoughts.....Frankly, these days (since lehman) I  started to go to these groceries shop again......it make sense too.....

IMHO: It seems that they rely heavily on their subsidiary companies to drive their core function of delivering products of everyday needs. While everyone needs these items in good times and in bad, it also means that exceptional net revenue and profit growth would be unlikely. Also, there isn't a very strong primary focus of the company, since they dwell into investing in unrelated stuff like sports betting in Cambodia and resort development in Malaysia. | ||||

This counter is worth another look. Upgrade to buy. Buy now while it is still cheap. See it to move up at least above the 50 cents level within this year. |

Frankly I thought to myself, this counter no need kangtow. The NAV is already abt 48 cents, and the mket neets to add more than 2 cent premium for its recent sparkling performance, then 50 cents where got problem. It is just some time needed because investors are afraid of scarecrows. Hehehe.
