Singapore Airlines says it filled 69.7 percent of the space available on its planes for passengers and cargo in July.

The figure was higher compared to June's 67.6 percent.

SIA said passenger load for July was at 79.7 percent, a 1.3 percentage point decline from a year ago.

In a statement, the airline said the ongoing global economic slowdown continues to impact travel demand.

With the exception of East and West Asia and Africa, all route regions registered lower passenger loads compared to last year.
