my humble and uninformed opinion is that 1 x A380 should have such a great impact, whether positive or negative, on SIA's ops costs or profits |

Personally if it crosses $20.. it has not much to do with the delivery... Besides SIA is getting only one of the many it ordered in oct. Airbus has delayed this delivery by more than 1 and a half year! and a whole hosts of airlines around the world are all queing to get theirs too.. If SIA can get extra landing/takeoff lot (not sure of the correct technical terms) from Heathrow for onwards trip across the Alantic... that will definitely have a postiive effect on sia's px than the delivery of a380 |

The A380 planes are more fuel efficient (per passenger) and can handle larger number of passengers than current models. They have the potential to improve profitability on long haul flights. However, IMHO, it remains to be seen if these planes will have a noticeable impact on SIA's earnings. |
