May I know what happens if one does not accept the offer after the closing date? I suppose our holdings will be 'forced sell' then?   | ||

United SM Holdings intends to make a voluntary unconditional cash offer of 88c per share for Guthrie to take the company private. Grp note that delisting Guthrie would the company with greater control and management flexibility in utilising and deploying its available resources. The historical trading liquidity of the shares has generally been low with an average daily trading volume of less than 650,000 shares over the 12-mth period, while the offeror also cited compliance costs relating to the listing status and said the company has not carried out any exercise to raise cash funding since 2006. | ||

After the 4% dividend pay out, the 1Q NAV is $1.01, representing great yield and capital gain potential. Price seems to be depressed at 72-73 cents, last recent high was 84/85 cents.  While mainliners rallied hard, time for 2nd liners like Guthrie to steal the show soon. Well backed by occupied retail malls.  Accumulate, buy more on dips. |

something to share... below lifted from kim eng report ... about SPH's proposed reit...and Guthrie Group is mentiond... " We believe there are several options for SPH. First, it may want to rope in partners that can provide the necessary critical mass of assets, that by itself, it does not have. Potential partners are likely to be smaller asset owners that cannot form their own REIT that may find it more convenient to work with a big player who can provide the financial heft and management muscle. Possibilities include Guthrie Group, which owns Jurong Point, a mature mall in western Singapore, and some other names as listed below..................................................."     |
