But very funny, price has reached Sgd. 0.065, but no one to buy? Is the market waiting price dropping to Sgd. 0.005 then execute buying? Do not tell me today transaction 0 again! Is it something wrong with SGX transaction system or UNIFOOD Holding itself?

The pork price in China has been rocking up these days, which seems not reflected in the stock price yet. Dirty cheap stock! The price is almost half of NAV. Loaded 100,000 shares today at 0.215. |

Since early last year AFTER VISTING one of their chemical factory, I have stopper buying China's edible products and also am mindful that I DO NOT pick consumer products such as toothpaste, soap etc made in China. Though they are cheap, unless they change their unethical ways and also environmental views, this country is destined to be ONE of the most polluted counrty in the world (Jus take a look at Yang Tze river). Most of the big MNCs brought their production in CHINA not only becoz its economically cheap in labor but because their rules for dumping waste within their country itself is the 'most flexible'. Good luck to them - Lead tainted toothpaste, chemically subsituted milkpowder, blue ear pigs and what have you. |

Not sure if this news will have any impact on UNIFOOD's P & L in the near future..... China's rising pork prices threat China's Premier warns that 'social stability' is at stake BEIJING ? China's Premier has called for steps to stabilise pork supplies and rein in soaring prices of the staple meat, warning that "social stability" is at stake without a solution, state media reported yesterday. . "We have noticed the recent rise in pork prices and the government is going all out to ensure the supply of pork and keep it affordable," the People's Daily newspaper quoted Premier Wen Jiabao as telling residents in the western city of Xi'an on Saturday. . He also ordered measures keep the public informed of price and supply changes, and other market developments in order to "safeguard social stability". . "Pig production is related to the people's livelihood and affects the overall situation. We cannot dismiss it as inconsequential," Mr Wen said. . Consumer inflation stoked by a booming economy has become a key government concern in recent years, especially as it relates to foodstuffs. . Prices for live pigs jumped 71.3 per cent nationwide last month, while the price of pork ? an essential ingredient in a vast range of staple Chinese dishes ? rose 29.3 per cent, state media reported earlier, quoting Ministry of Agriculture figures. . Xinhua news agency quoted experts as saying supplies have been further hit by a recent massive cull of pigs in southern China in response to a disease outbreak there. . Other than subsidies to pig farmers, Mr Wen also ordered local governments to closely monitor prices and thoroughly inspect all pork to maintain order in the market. . Chinese food products have been the source of a number of national and overseas health scares and Beijing recently ordered a new quality-control crackdown. . Fifty-six people were hospitalised after eating pork at a marketplace in south China's Guangdong province, state media reported yesterday. ?
