Thanks everyone for sharing.. As they always say : Bulls make money and Bears make money. Only pigs get slaughtered in the market.. (Maybe thats why pp mostly eat pork rather than bulls or bears) |

Thanks victorian and ongjeremiah your sharing your knowledge on this forum (for free) has really helped us newbies. I have learnt and come along way from where I started and able to make reasonable profits but still a long long way to go. |

I'm not a guru, but I think you are looking for the so-called "defensive" stocks. These stocks are in sectors that are less vulnerable to economic fluctuations, such as food, utilities, transport, etc. |

I know we all want this bull run to go on forever but we know nothing lasts forever. So hoping not to sound too pessimistic can you more experienced guru's out there help us newbies. I know that owning stocks paying high dividends and having high market cap is safer to own in a downturn. What sort of range are we looking at in the Singapore market? The blue chips are so expensive now but in a downturn what would be the best to own - reits, industrials ? Stocks like SPH ?What sort of market cap are looking at ? This where FA is important so please experts give a clue! some sugestions please. Also do reits go on paying the same dividends in a down market, I know maybe the price of the share will go down but I suppose the dividend will be down as well ?? |
