That's when Singapore being politically stable with pro-investment policies, stands out as a good investment destination (compared to other SEA countries) for fund managers. My only fear is that earnings will disappoint, not by itself but relative to high expectations of analysts who are so used to double digit growth. |

Haha... Sounds good, maybe I should change my name to Market Wizard <O US market pullback last Fri was due to inflation concerns, and the expectation that the Fed will cut rate may not materialise. But the other camp is saying, look the US economy is in no risk of slowing down which is conducive to equities since they are reached dizzling heights because of earnings expectations. The market tend to overreact now with profit taking. Next day, they big guys may sing another tune, economy is going for slow landing so that is positive, blah blah blah ... Then viola! The market continues to run again, hehe... Since most fund managers are still positive about equities this year, sooner or later they will sing this tune as most still overweight on equities, we as small investors just make sure we sing the right chorus with them, haha... Anyway earnings season coming up, may provide impetus for market to run becuase Q4 results generally are expected to be good (i.e. beating those market expectations). Let's pray ... |

Hi iPunter, thanks for suporting my thread! Fund managers are still optimistic about Asia. For Southeast Asia, Singapore and Indonesia still feature prominently. Uptrend is still intact with pullbacks as buying opportunities. The Hongbao Rally could see STI hitting new high. I'm no market god, just my two cents worth of view :-) |

You could be right on! Market sentiment is often so fickle. Optimism can come suddenly... when only the day before, gloom and doom reigned supreme... |

I am of the opinion that this is a market for selling into strength and buying on the dips. Position yourselves for the next rally around CNY period? |
