Wows. SATS realli replied within 24 hours. "SATS still has S$22.9M in Section 44 tax credits. This is sufficient to frank S$114.5M in gross dividends before they expire in Dec 2007. The company is committed to fully utilize the tax credits before the expiry." Any comments on this counter? |

1. No. Pte sector. use to be Govt 7yrs ago. 2. Most have as far I know but they are only intelligent gueses base on their taxes paid from 98-2003. Have to eliminate Vita (new IPO). Those with insignificant would be Tai Sin, Norelco. The only confirm number is SMB. The rest, I'm checking and waiting for their responses. |

Looking at the following now and some vested: For now and during this bullish phase of 2007: SMB United, 2nd chance, Norelco, TTL, Meiban, UOB Kay Hian, Kim Eng, Tai Sin, (now Seksun added), Vita For defensive when the market corrects or market declines: UOB Kay Hian/Kim Eng (tends to move at the tailend of any major rally), Singapore Ship Corporation (sitting on 32cents of pure cash), Popular holdings, (sitting on lots of cash & S44 credits) just very boring biz & a very old Chairman. Your other recommendation CSE, had a very good run in the last 2 yrs. Trading 3Xs NAV. Overvalued IMO. risk reward ratio for me not comusarated. |

Tried too. Think IR get jammed with enquiries or trying siam. minus points here for a listed coy cos quite shocking for an enquiry mail address to be full. Plan to fax over enquiry tommorow to them. If they don't respond within 48hrs, quite clear they have something to hide (not a bad thing too but bad for making a clear decision if one is deciding to take a significant position). Anyway, thanks for the recommendation, I spent yesterday going thru its numbers, annual reports, some analyst reports, industry peers to get a sense of its biz, historical numbers and forecasted numbers. In my opinion very similar to another counter called Norelco. Good fundamentals but within an industry that faces pressure hence have to be very patient with such stocks but well compensated from a yeild perspective. Will definitely be monitoring and taking position in this stock. FYI, I'm a very fundamental analyst person normally taking a at least a 6mth position on any counter with a tendency to accumulate when it's languishing for months (takes long time to accumulate as volumn are low), but well rewarded when it turns and breakouts. So pardon me and other TA people here if I don't fit in a forum that I notice is very TA driven. I use TA more to see how slow or how fast I need to move in my accumulation than to trade daily. |

Have to ask company directly thru their Investor Relations. Otherwise, have to make intelligent gueses by looking at their taxes paid for the period 1998-2003. After that, look at their dividend to see how much normal dividend and bonus dividend given. Chances are, bonus dividends are the s44 credits. Datapulse was one counter that has been giving lots of bonus dividend in the last 4 years to clear their s44 credits that was significant as they made lots of money during that period. |
