Agree with red1721. It's an open secret that the jackpot winnings can be controlled just by pasting a different sign on the section with e.g."bar" sign.. It's mathematcally worked out so that IRAS can always increase its takinge of any machine .If the collection in any machine drops owing to too frequent jackpot payouts, the payout frequency can be reduced as described above. DON'T FORGET THE IRAS COLLECTS ABT 42% OF WHATEVER IS IN EACH MACHINE. Pse circulate this too as many friends as possible. At least there is hope of recovering your capital in shares nowadays UNLESS they were bought at their peaks many years ago before the crash. |

well, based on what I learn from probability in school last time on this theory, you would need to calculate the previous linked odds. Coz in consecutive probability, u have to consider the previous ones if they are related. This was in fact a question our professor gave us as an example during our maths lecture. I remembered it very clearly coz I used this method to bet whenever I go Genting during my 20s. And i had not since lost any money whenever I play roulette. Problem is, you have to be very very patient when you use this method. I had waited for as long as 2 hours on a table just for 4 consecutive same colour to appear, and it is not 100% fool prove. As I had said in my previous post...there is something in this world which is called LUCK....nothing else beats that... |

hi red1721, I agree with allantanhc. Please note that every spin on the wheel is independent on the previous spin. The odds are always the same in every spin. You need to calculate the expected returns (in this case, it will always be -ve which is known as house edge). Please search wikipedia for "bettor's fallacy" and martingale theory. Another analogy that i can think of is the chance of the next child that a couple will give birth to is a girl/boy. Let's not consider the genetic stuff. the chance is always 50-50. |

allantanhc...your calculations are wrong...in probability calculations, in this case...yes...the 1st round is 18/38...but on the 2nd round, you have to include the probability that the 1st round is a red. On the 3rd round, you have to include that the 1st round is red, and the 2nd round is red, And lastly in the 4th round, include 1st, 2nd and 3rd rounds are all reds in a row...then now you have 4 probabilities. From the 4 probabilites, you will derive a single probability of about 1 out of a few million. Pardon me that I cant give u the exact calculations coz I had already given most of my maths knowledge back to school...hehe.. |

Hi, red1721, Mathematically, in your example, the probability that a black number will appear after 4 reds is still 18/37 (if there is only one zero) or 18/38 (if there are two zeros). Knowing that the earlier four rounds were red is irrelevant. Don't know if I make sense to you. In short, you will always lose no matter what methods you use. You can only win casino when you are lucky and that will happen only when you gamble for a short while. Ride on your winning form and then go when you see that you lose three times in a stretch. Cut loss.... remember? |

Not sure lose lah...you just need to beat them with better odds using different betting methods, not just go there, sit down and bet on anything you like ...casinos make $$ coz they always got better odds on the table than you(eg. on roulette, its the numbers 0 and 00, on bacarat, theres the commission when banker win on 6, etc). So in long term....based on mathematical calculations/probability, they will make $$. Let me suggest you one way of having a better odds, if you play roulette, based on red/black...wait for 4 of the same colour that come out in a row(eg. red, red, red, red), then on the 5th bet, bet on the opposite colour(based on the example, it is black that you should bet on now)...that way, your odds would be like 1 out in a few million that it will not be black. But you have to be very discipline and patient, which most gamblers do not have...reason is...greed...But even though there are ways to beat casino's odds...theres still one major thing when it comes to gambling...that is LUCK... |

Depending on which side of the coin you look at. Gambling is a sure-lose game for the punters. On the other hand, gambling is a sure bet for the casino operator and for the Government who just sit there and collect taxes. Before you gamble, you have to pay $100 to the Government first. Additionally, when there are big casino operators who want to put in over $5 billion in Singapore and at the same time creating over 30000 jobs, there is little reason for government to turn them away. |

What do you all make of LKY saying that Singapore can have more than 2 casinos... BUT then again, gambling is a sure-lose game? |
