you would have to pay a bit more for the newspaper everyday, every month, year..

In short, 3Q eps = 10cts, group nav = $1.33. Eps FY10 so far = 26cts already = whole of FY09.

Hmm... we may see a record earning unseen in recent years barring unforeseen circumstances.

SPH reports Third Quarter Net Profit of $165 million
SINGAPORE, 12 July 2010 – Singapore Press Holdings Limited (SPH) today
reported its results for the third quarter ended 31 May 2010. The Group
delivered a strong performance in the third quarter with recurring earnings of
$176.8 million, $45.5 million (34.7%) higher than the corresponding quarter of the
previous financial year. This was attributable to the rebound in performance from
the Group’s Newspaper and Magazine segment as well as higher contribution
from Sky@eleven. Net profit rose by 29.9% to $164.6 million.

Like that tomorrow hit $4 alrdy

For long term investors, anytime is a good time to go in as long as the STI is not near its all-time-high.

Experience investors will wait until xcd or price to correct before making their move.......below $3.99 is a good price tho.

agreed. I bought last mth at ard $3.7 and sold it at $4. today went in and buy at $4.13 again... haiz... greedy for the div.

This time buying using cpf money mainly use for mid-long term investment. will accumulate more if price below $4. This counter is one of the few blue chips available for a near 6% ROI (est. $250/yr). One bad thing is the big div will only be paid during dec period. This time onli $70. But is still abt 1.7%. Much higher than any interest rate banks could offer.

Big trades can be seen done earlier today. I think as long as price does not exceed $4.7+ in the short term it is one of the few counters that is considered cheap.
