Unless HK can show a dramatic increase in revenue and profits..the PX is not going to grow significantly in the short term. Mr Market says...nice try for being the in the black qtr after qtr..BUT HK is still a s-chip...and HK has to show a dramatic change (ie significant profit boost) before we can see any large px movements. (besides BAML report).  Analyst are not even looking at this counter and bypassing it for Hyflux and UtdEnv. So guys..we all got to be realistic...and it is all up to David and gang to perform the impossible, the unimaginable...a miracle...yes a miracle. What they have done may be good if its a local counter (and I laud the team) but not good enough for a s-chip. While the future is bright for HK and I should say tremendously bright with so many factors (epc business, water tariff increases, projects and China throwing plenty of gold to arrest worsening water crisis)....Mr Market decides S-Chips by results and not future prospects...this is my reading from the market. Contra players...you should give up whoever you are and for long timers...good luck to both you and I. May our patience carry us through this treacherously long but rewarding journey. |

Was there too this morning. Spoke to the CFO after the meeting ended. With the acquisition of JT, he cautiously stated that an additional revenue in excess of rmb 300rmb will be added through this epc business for fy 2013 which is good in my opinion. Revenue will continue to grow as long as there are heavy demands in China..however they stated they will scrutinized and be selectively of projects and not enter blindly into all.(Very soon I hope that revenue will hit the billion range and above for fy2014 with both water treatment and epc business combined. That will take Hk into the big league.). When questioned by someone from the audience David mentioned that EPC business was all along something he wanted to do when he took over the business. It just had to take time for them to clean up Hk, put the business in good shape and venture into epc when the opportunity arises. Looks like it took him 2 years to realize that. Their target of 3mio daily capacity and 5mio in 5 years is still very much there but am not sure whether timeframe is still valid. Did not probe further on that. I wrote some time back that this has been one of their strategic intent and therefore they will still keep their assets and do the epc business...at the same time. They will only sell their assets unless someone come up with offers they can't walk away from. Mr Yau the CFO mentioned that compared to the the companies in Europe and Us. China companies will have much to catch up in terms of business and valuation. Those ang moh companies are valued in billions USD and in China only millions..will take a while for them to get there. Don't forget that the China govt is pumping trillions in rmb for the next 5 to 15 yrs to arrest the water crisis. So becoming billion dollar company is a possibility for some of these Chinese companies. Valuation will be very different then. Overall I am quite optimistic about the company ..long term very good. short term s.u.c.ks. as px will linger between 4.5 to 7cts depending on market conditions unless they win more deals or when there are tariff increases which is likely. Appears that they have intention to upgrade more plants to grade A and hopefully get better tariffs.

You should know this. No special announcement will be make in the SGM because any official announcement has to go through SGX first. Let's be realistic.

Next week is the last week to the SGM. Hope come Apr 1, it will bring in a new era for Hankore and we will see it charging beyond 5c. I see likely scenario that Hankore may sell its water treatment plants for good solid cash and focus on EPC projects after acquiring JIANGSU TONGYONG ENVIRONMENT ENGINEERING CO., LTD. There are thousands of plants to be built across China and Hankore has established itself as a premium builder and operator of class A quality plants. It is difficult to be both an operator and a builder for potential competitors. |

Yes, share your optimism and hope it stays above 0.043 to SGM. More good news after SGM with BAML and epc. CE

It was a big test for some investors if the up trend was reversed for good after the last 2-3 weeks of correction which saw the chart breaking the 20 days then 50 days moving averages. It hit the 100 days moving averages yesterday and resulted in very much oversold. The rebound with high volume today reaffirm that its up trend remains intact while its fundamental continues to improve. Next week will be the last week for anyone to grab a piece of Hankore below 5c. It will shoot up after the Special General Meeting. Daily volumes were very low over the last week and hence will not expect many contra players to suppress the price gain. I'm happy to have loaded some at 4.3c.
Hoping Hankore can announce any water tariff increase again soon and that will boost the price beyond 5c even before the SGM ! Perhaps that may be a pleasant surprise when many expecting it to trade below 5c so that the motion for the acquisition will not be jeopardized. Whatever the price, it makes sense to support it as it is also partly the reason for the optimism. Keeping for the day to see it hitting above 16c ! Good luck to all :) |

EGM likely end of March if the documents can be dispatched this coming week. I am sure David would have his script ready as there will be other developments considering the no of projects for upgrading and expansion he has listed in the 1H report. CE.

Looks like the next EGM will be a complete FULL HOUSE with barely any standing space ! The last time when I was at the AGM, the serving for the refreshment couldn't cope with the 'demand' :) Well, some really made up for their loss with stacked up of food that their plate can barely hold !

Lucky03, I like your optimism. It still depends on BOAML outcome and how HK can raise the cash needed for upgrading and expansion & the reputation of the third party. The development has been encouraging and looking forward to meet and hear from David on his plans at EGM. CE.

If you are taking profit, it can never be wrong as you can only make less. It is a pity to have to cut loss if you have the holding power.
At last AGM, a shareholder enquiried when will Hankore deliver again the kind of revenue during the early days of Bio-Treat. David explained that much of them then were derived from EPC projects and they were capital intensive and relatively higher project risk. We all witnessed it when things went wrong. HK needs to continue to build up stronger stable financial position and stay on the course of expansion. HK shared that the value of the acquisition will offer them opportunities in entering asset light EPC projects. The key word is 'asset light'. I'm not engineering trained but I assume that is a slightly different area and apparently, HK is ready to flap its wings and take on more aggressive expansion plan while reaping the benefits of increased water tariff and new phases for its current portfolio. The announcements on friday reconfirmed they will continue to enjoy increased water tariff rate and expansion. Looks like a no brainier that the future is bright and the price will eventually reflect its value and perhaps returning to its glorious days of above $1 is not unthinkable ! |
