Recorded 3Q13 net profit of $35.1m (+8% y/y, +17% q/q), as revenue fell 3% y/y (+0.1% q/q) to $588.5m on weak sales. 9M13 core earnings missed consensus forecasts, and may trigger further earnings cuts for 4Q13. Venture had been able to mitigate adversed factors through its strategic thrusts for operational efficiency, despite the lack of strong recovery within the industry, as well as the continued rise of minimum wage levels in low-cost jurisdictions. CIMB notes that seasonal strength does not appear likely this year, as the house cuts FY13-15 earnings by an average of 14% to factor in the still-slow sales recovery. Demand may not have fallen off the cliff, but neither are there any strong signs of recovery. CIMB downgrades the counter to Underperform (from Outperform) with $7.60 TP (from $8.25). NAV remained stable at $6.48, and DPS is likely to be maintained at $0.50. | |||||

UOB Kay Hian maintains Buy with $8.05 TP. House note that Venture achieved steady sequential growth in 2H13, driven by expansion in the RSS and industrial segments. Product transfers from Oclaro are also on track with revenue contribution expected to double on a y/y basis. Demand from most existing customers is showing signs of recovery. Venture secured 12 new customers in 2012 (8 new customers from test & measurement/medical, 2 from RSS/industrial, 1 each from printing & imaging and networking & communications) and will benefit from increasing revenue contributions from new customers and new products in 2H13 and 2014. Overall, maintain BUY due to attractive dividend yield of 6.8%. | |||||

WTF ,This arbeeerdeeen is trying to swallow the company and have already bought 25% of venture propping up the share price to make it look good. If a macro blackswan appears and investors redeem shares, there will be severe over supply depressing price, which will be a good entry in anticipation in the future of a possibility of private equity deal to delist it, or a restructuring revamping the old mgmt team for a new tech savvy one or a meager or a sale to realise the hidden value in this company. | |||||

Aberdeen has been selling this stock of late.
Anyway if u can get this stock at 5 dollars. Means yr return is double in 5 years if u include dividend N capital gain as long as the ceo dun speak to another air stewardess in the airflight Tech n internet stock will be the next cycle lead sector in next bull run to 2020. Made no mistake. |
