can't really predict a trend in any counter now due to the big market correction of last week. if ur looking at timing into TPV , keep in mind that Annual results likely to be out on April 3rd so u might need to be fast if ur going to follow a trend (up or down which has to happen shortly) |

So does this suggest the downtrend is still in progress? Quite likely, but it's better to watch the charts for the base to form first before jumping in. Because a 'few', stale sellers can be waiting on the sidelines to unload when the price rises a bit. So since the game is played by both big and small, time (also read timing) is the main consideration. |

yup ... GIC increased their holdings in TPV just recently ... and as I mentioned, big players not keen in lower margin products. The good thing is that current TPV is priced lower than it should be. |

my 2 cents FA on this counter. just a rough estimate Last yr sales 5000M USD, Gross Profit 289M This yr's sales should touch 7000M USD and Gross Profit should come in around 400M USD. True , profit margins are low as compared to Revenue but if Profit is still increasing who are we to complain? 2 reasons why Price gone down. a) Lower profit margins as reported b) Article about Patent case being filed against company. but such patent cases filed even in 2004 / 2005. Reason for company's increase in Revenue , most of Sony's LCD Panels have been outsourced to TPV from 2006 if Govt of Singapore Investment manager can buy in around 3M lots even on 27th Feb day of market crash, obviously he knows something more than us. vested. |

yup ... being squeezed. Technically, TPV price is still attractive. Big players like philips, sony, etc are not interested in lower margin products ... thus, room is there for TPV and likewise companies. |

So it looks like LCD panels may go the same route as DRAM did... ie. having profit margins squeezed through oversupply and technological maturity... :( |

Hi, I am new to this forum. Saw this article on TPV in The Edge, 5th Feb 07, with this conclusion : "Operationally, analyst says FY2006 would be muted with flat sales growth. Given intensifying competitive pressure and a low volume of LCD TVs, further growth may not show through until FY2008." "Margins for the next 3 quarters are unlikely to see recovery" - Morgan Stanley |

This stock is 'rock bottom' (at this time)... It would be hugely beneficial if someone can come up with solid FA study for the benefit of longer-term investors. |

From Dow Jones report: "Removing a stock from an index or adding it usually affects its share price as index tracking funds will have to sell or buy it." So TPV will drop? Will wait after 5 Feb. |

Latest Annoucement on SGX, GIC increased stake in TPV. OCBC researched issue a buy call, target price around $1.40, report said current price of 0.99 has limited downside risk. Historically, the current price is indeed rock bottom, good time to enter? |
