Both are same....ordinary shares.....as they say...they rank pari passu.....i.e enjoy same rights and benefits. The SIA 200 was introduced to make it more affordable for retail investors. Say at $15.00 per share, 1 lot of SIA, which is 1,000 shares, will cost $15,000 + comm. But if you buy 1 lot of SIA 200, you are buying 200 shares and will cost $3,000+ comm. If you have 1,000 shares, you can sell it in either 1 SIA lot.......i.e. all in one go... OR 5 tranches of SIA200......in up to 5 separate trades. Likewise, if you buy 5 lots of SIA200, you can sell it in 1 lot of SIA. This is the same for singtel, singtel 100 and singtel 10. But the reason for singtel to be traded in smaller lots is for the benefit the odd lots that many ppl were holding during the IPO allocation to sporeans. Hope this clarifies. |

(1) The 2 prices should be very closely related with each other. They are the same share belonging to the same company. 5 SIA 200 lots = 1 SIA lot. (2) Both can buy. Although I think institutional player would rather buy SIA. Its the same share anyway. (3) Same share so same dividend. 1 SIA 200 Lot = 20% of dividend from 1 SIA lot |

Hi all, Need some help here, I know that SIA 200 is sold in lot of 200 instead of 1000 for the SIA counter. However, I have some question 1) Does SIA 200 and SIA stock price correlated with each other? 2) Who actually buy SIA 200: Institutional or retail buyer? 3) Does SIA 200 give dividends? If so, is it the same as SIA shares? Appericated if someone can sherd light on this. Thanks |
