Hi timewatch...anything can change with interest rates, but if it's any consolation, HDB's rate tends to lag behind & is less volatile. Asking prices of flats have gone off tangent in many areas. So, a more important point is whether what you will pay for is worth it. Avoid getting into situations of negative equity that was prevalent a few years back. |

So lets say if i buy it for 245K now,at 2.5% from HDB, and later around 2years, property market is cheap will i loose, so interest with HDB will be high now or later. |

HDB prices are moving up quickly should be due to the run away prices of private properties. I believe a certain percentage of HDB price is tagged to the private property index. I am not sure but i think it is logical for HDB to track the prices of the private property market. As a HDB dweller myself, I would be very happy to see my flat appreciate but not happy bcos i cannot realise the gain. |

can HDB interest go as high as bank interest, say if i price goes low in one or 2 years. |

time watch..if u buy cos married then cant be help,,if not y now...shld have bought 2 yrs back..now very high..dont buy if can,,,it will come down given a yrs or 2...trust me...when America housing busrst everywhere will be cheap....beware interest rate going up..HDB still not so bad..in Australia..i am toking my one in Perth..it have gone up 40%.. As for stock..those who shout long term ...we shall see come sept..y buy now when u can get cheaper later...let see how long the world can support the dollar....anyway wat type of dollar if it need to be supported...did we care to ask???it is junk...not back up by anything other than word fr moutn of Bernanke..there are trillion of them...just paper...buy somne gold..physical gold for insurance..just 10%..no harm...if i am wrong got nothing to lose..gold not like stock can never go to zero...value alway there.. |

Hi cheongwee-looking to buy a resale 4 room Hdb at bukit batok,last 6 months back saw a unit and fell in love with it, its valuation at that time was around 225k, since owner was not in moving condition decided to wait, unfortunatly HDb resale prices gone up, now owner did a revaluation and its now245k, what to do, he is ready to sell, but i don't feel quite ready cos of price. |

dont be naive to believe it is over...american housing bubble is far too long...the crash is real...american borrow against their asset...if gone the house...there the consumer bubble will burst..and this will trigger across the board....dont froget America economy is 2/3 depend on consumer...if consumer go bust...as good as the world go bust... Can forsee alot of blood...come september..play safe buy a bit of gold. for insurance...the risk outweight the benefits to stay on.... |

alot of bombshell still havent drop...a few of those major morgagte related stock have yet to report their earning..do u think they are going to give good report???alot of surprises in store...becareful. Just one more go belly up...that is...another 700 pts drop fr here..foreclosure at all time high...loan default at all time high...housing not supported by real income...saving negative..inflation going up..oil going up..consumer debt at 1.8 trillions....dollar is going to hell...and alot!!! Till we see a 700 pts drop in a day..this post is just bullshit by me....we shall see...be careful...it is a trading market as far as we can see... |

everything will be even cheaper...buy then...not now...this is just the 1st wave...bigger wave coming when alot of guy cannot pay their home loan with the new rate..dont say i didnt tell you. |
