Agreed, dropped not so bad as expected. In fact, most of the counters i have are already recovering.. Should improve further in the afternoon once shortist cover back. |

... I am heading to my bed now. Had a long night shorting USD/JPY and GBP/JPY. Just before day break, the chart reversed and was able to lock in some decent profit. |

Talked to a few remisers. A lot still have profits from their recent wins to BUY in a depressed market so somehow the market is supported from drastic drop. If the price continues to depress, it will start to hurt not only their profit but their hard earned money that they used to buy the stock, then we will see real escalated cut loss selling. Hold your horses. If monday becomes a clear blue sky, today's risk takers win. Non risk taker didnt WIN nor did they lose coz their money is still in their pocket. :) |

that's quite a long post Skeleton...applaud u on the writing effort yea..agreed with u most certainly on some points...yes KiLrOy...I m pretty surprised (pleasantly though...) that the dip is not as much as what many would have expected...short term dip is here...but long term wise is still on the uptrend |

Do you really think it had hit the bottom ? Do you think it is the right time to 'scoop' up some shares which would be 'cheap' today due to DOW's drop ? Do you really think this is the strategy you will absorb when index goes down ? Did you really see it coming or did you just buy for the sake of buying when you feel the prices are 'cheap' OR have your emotions overuled your senses when market turned suddenly ? Sorry for asking all above questions, i am a newbie in this financial world who knows nothing about TA, FA, NAV etc etc and i buy or sell any counters base entirely on what i read then i do a search on those selected companies's background before deciding, based entirely on self confidence and self believe. I have already prepared for the worst before i decide to lay my finger on stocks and shares market, i am not waiting for crises or major corrections to strike and then decided whether to buy or sell hence i won't give a damn whether DOW, STI, NIKKIE, HSI or whatever rocket high or hit rock bottom low cos i am prepared to lose every single cents vested if the worst hit me. What happened on 18th July 2007 made me realised there are investors who panic and sell for reasons which they do not even know, there is also another group who feel time for cheap buy, well, are these the strategies you have planned before hand or did you foresee it coming ? I am sure there are people being hit but there is also a small group behind the scene that are making some quick and big money from the amount of volumes traded on this very day. What happened these 2 weeks, i feel, is due to the fact that BBs are also sitting back awaiting how the Jews are gonna affect the DOW, S & P, NASDAQ etc before they act and hence, we, the investors here, lost our directions, bearings, self confidence and also the basic investment fundamental techniques (sorry it comes from a fella who knows nuts). For me, when i am unsure of the situations, like the saying goes ' When the enemies stop, I stay put. When the enemies move, I react', simple and basic logic from a layman's point of view who do not understand many many financial terms and charts you guys used and explained in this forum. What ever goes up must come down and what ever come down must go up....but whatever that could be coming down or going up today might not be the rock bottom or height limit of what you think because in this game, we are not the master controlling the game, the people you all called BBs are the ones. Patience is the name of my game these few days, watching how investors react and waiting for BBs to make their moves. All monies are still circulating in here, sometimes you win, at times you lose, depending on the timming and the shares you vested. Singapore's fundamental is very good, for a few more bullish years at least..... IR, F1, IDR and many other local and overseas projects along the pipeline which we might not know yet.....so i guess i will stay patient rather then act rashly when ever the market turns, be it for or against me. You may wanna hit back at me, a person who knows nuts about finanacial market for posting this.....well, i won't mind if that makes you feel better and also because i am a weird fella who look at things my way from my angle....nonetheless, give some 'face' and don't carry the attack too far hor.
